Last of the Sauder Rugs ~

These are the last of the rugs I will post from Rug Hooking Week at Sauder Village.  There were many, many more that I did not photograph.  The talent displayed was amazing.  If you ever have the chance to attend, do not hesitate.

Isn't this the sweetest?

My photo does not do this hooked piece justice!

Every one had the same wooden (cigar?) box and decorated the top in their choice medium.

My Favorite.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

I have heard the online class with Katie Hartner on values is an excellent class!  I have not taken it . . . yet.

Miscellaneous rugs ~

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I hope I am not boring you with too many rugs.  It is so hard to pick and choose which ones to post.

Week 3 Progress ~ and More

The kitchen/bath remodel is moving along but nothing to show.  Bruce has still been doing prep work and painting.  He thought he might start bringing in cupboards on Friday, but he was still without power from Wednesday's hellacious storms. He has a generator, but it does not generate enough power to run his house and his workshop.  The weathermen say that it was a one in 500 year storm.

Yesterday's hook in was very nice.  It didn't start out great for me.  For whatever reason, my GPSs (2 of them!!!) would not direct me to the fairground venue and I failed to see the fairground sign attached to the church sign.  I drove aimlessly for 20 minutes.  Thankfully I left plenty early (6:20 am ~ argh!) so it wasn't an issue other than stressing me out.  Sales were okay.  I came home with cash in my pocket so that was good.

Halloween stuff is out in the stores in full force!  Last year when I decided I wanted a 5' skeleton, it was too late to find one.  I found this one at Home Depot the other day.

Only $40 ~ much cheaper than any others I have found.  He will eventually be sitting out on my porch, but not until some time next month.

Amen to this!!!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Sauder Rug Week - Part 3 ~

Group Exhibit - Storybooks:  Alida Akers Art

Feature Exhibit - The Golden Age of Illustrated Fairy Tales
These rugs are touring the country.

Thumbelina Meets a Mouse.  Hooked by friend, shop owner and fellow guild member, Connie Bradley.

The Goose Girl by hooker extraordinaire, Sybil Osicka.  She is the author of many hooking books and belongs to a couple of the guilds I belong to.

Group Exhibit - Rock That Song, Name That Tune
This was a group challenge for the Ft. Laurens Rugcrafters, another guild I belong to.  (I did not participate in this challenge either.)

Some people are most creative!!!

Nigel got the Peoples' Choice award in its category.  A well deserved honor.

There was also a display of state pillows. Here is a sampling.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Tomorrow I am off to vend at a hook in in Millersburg, then no more vending for the year.  Hopefully I will find my hook soon and work on some fun stuff!
Put hugs 😊
