On the Frame ~

I finally put a small pattern on the frame.  Only 13" x 16", it is a pattern by Cammie Bruce.  To my knowledge, she has not reopened her business.  Has anyone heard if she has?  She has many fun patterns.  Once again I am sharing the wonderful plaid wools I am using.

Crazy Ohio weather.  We went from the 80's two days ago to chilly once again.  I still had some firewood in the house so I built a fire this evening.

Piddly Stuff ~

As usual, a whole lottta nuthin' 😁

I have finished labeling my rugs from 2021.  Thankfully I have my blog to check what year I hooked a rug.

I have started binding The Poser . . .

Even though we had snow at the beginning of the week, we did not go in to a deep freeze so the daffodils and hyacinth survived.  I mowed the yard today with a winter coat and gloves.  Tomorrow we will be in the 70's!

I am heading to rug camp in West (by God) Virginia in a couple of weeks.  I hope to make contact with one of my college roommates who lives just a couple hours away.  It will be wonderful if we can meet somewhere in the middle.  It has been far too long since I have seen her.  I need to quickly put something on the frame to gift her.  I have gone to my stash and think I have chosen a small mat that I should be able to finish.  Time will tell . . . sigh.  Leave it to me to wait until the last minute.  Hopefully I will have something to share soon.

Remember last month I reminded all my female readers to get their mammogram?  Well, my mammos have come back fine since 2010 (when I had my last biopsy).  This time, they wanted a recheck and possible ultrasound, on the right boob instead of the left.  The waiting is always stressful.  I had my appointments this week, and all appears good though they want to recheck in six months.  I can breathe again.

Now I hope this is a joke, but not sure if it is.  WTH???  The caption said it was men's fashion that was presented in Paris.

Sadly, that's all I have 😞

The Daffodils are NOT Happy ~

As I have said many times, if you don't like the weather in Ohio, stick around for a day and it will change.  Several weeks ago we had beautiful, spring weather.  I even did some yard cleanup.  The nice weather was short lived and it has not been very spring-like since.  This is what it looked like around the yard today.

Molly is not a fan of this weather either.

By Thursday it will be in the low 60's and Sunday 75°.

I leave you with a little humor.

Happy Easter ~

The majority of my Easter decorations are ceramic pieces made by my mom, primarily back in the 70's and 80's.  Of course they are very special to me 💗  (Sorry for the washed out pictures 😒)

I do have three vintage chocolate molds.

Vintage and new pieces.

I love my vintage J. Chein and Co. bunny and cart.

Rabbit nutcracker.

Peter Rabbit.  Pattern by Cammie Bruce.  Wool forsythia and bead carrots made by friend Melissa.  The little carrots in the dish are jute wrapped ones from the Dollar and a Quarter store 😁

Happy, happy Easter and many blessings to you.

Seriously???

This was on the front page of our local newspaper this morning.  I am assuming Heather Chapin is all of 19 years old to think that 62 is elderly.  Are there no editors who questioned her?  God willing that one day she will be this "elderly".  I bet she will change her tune in a heartbeat 😁

An Easter classic.

Nada ~

Nada whole lot going on.  As usual, busy all the time but just on piddly stuff.  Nothing really share worthy.

FINALLY ~ Being the master procrastinator, with the IRS deadline looming, I should finish my taxes and get them filed today.  They are pretty basic, but I just always wait . . . and wait . . . to get them started.  Then it feels so wonderful to be done and I can breathe a sigh of relief.

I am finishing up one more small Halloween mat.  I really like how this medium value wool is hooking up.  I will probably just be working on a few small pieces and not start anything big until I head to rug camp in West Virginia on Mother's Day.

I am also working on rug labels.  I got way behind and had about a dozen mats/rugs needing one.  I am not yet halfway done but one more thing I will be able to cross off the list.

That's about it.  Pretty pathetic 😢

And the Pile Grows ~

I am referring to the binding pile.  On one hand, it is a good thing because it means I am getting things done.  On the other . . . UGH!

Ole Jack.  I have not even started the prep to bind this big 'un.

The binding on these mats is at least started.

Nothing yet . . .

Lots of sunflowers to finish.

And FINALLY ~ The Poser is hooked.  I am happy at the way it turned out but Cathy Stephan of Red Barn Rugs gets all the credit.  I started this in a class with her last June.  It was her excellent guidance and color plan.  I had hesitated starting the flowers.  She told me I was not allowed to leave class until one was started 😁.  Great advice.

Ernestine had a birthday ~ #10.  She is looking good but her face/chin sure are getting grey.  Thankfully she is in excellent health.

Here's Your Sign ~

Great minds travel parallel paths 😁  DSO and I are huge Bill Engvall fans.  If you are not familiar with him, he is a comedian who has been touring the country for forty years doing stand-up comedy.  At one time, he was part of the Blue Collar Comedy Tour along with Jeff Foxworthy, Larry the Cable Guy and Ron White.  For Christmas, I bought us tickets to go see Bill.  For Christmas, he bought us tickets to go see Bill.  Talk about a lack of communication . . . lol.  We ended up using his tickets (he bought much better tickets than I did ~ row 6!!!) and his daughter and her friend used the other two.

We are not ones to often go see an act, but this is the third time we have seen Bill.  This is actually his Farewell Tour, sad to say.  This man is hysterical.  Funny.  Tears rolling down your face funny.  I hadn't laughed this hard or long since the last time we saw him (in 2018).  His humor is not vulgar.  No f bombs.  Much of his act revolves around the things his wife puts up with being married to him (since 1982).  If you need a laugh, go to You Tube and listen to some of his routines.  He ended his act with his signature piece of "Here's Your Sign".  I will never tire of this man's humor.

Check him out.  You won't be sorry.

April Fools' Day ~

Slowly I am making progress on The Poser.  I am hooking a little background each day and also working on several other things.  I am liking the background and in person it is not showing up too light.  When that's done, all I will have left is to add maybe three rows of blacks to finish it off.  It was started in class last June, so it's about time.

Tomorrow I am off to a hook in.  Hopefully all the pandemic cancellations are behind us (though I am not too optimistic 😟).

Thanks so much for stopping by.
