Ezra's Farm is finally D.O.N.E.  It took me much longer than anticipated but now it's ready for binding.  It was started in a class with Maria Barton in September.  It is a pattern by Dru Ann Jeffries of Cinnamon Creek Folk Art that can be purchased from Maria.

I had an overnight guest for a few days while her daddy was celebrating his granddaughter's first birthday in California.  Isn't she the cutest?  She will be 13 next month and other than arthritis (for which she gets a monthly shot that is like a miracle cure) she is doing great.

So happy we sprang forward.  I love the extra hour of daylight in the evening.  I hope our government will finally keep us on permanent daylight savings time.

Ezra's Farm ~

Ezra's Farm was started in a class with Maria Barton of Star Rug Company in September.  It is a Dru Ann Jeffries ~ Cinnamon Creek Folk Art pattern sold in Maria's etsy shop.  I chose the small version which is 22' x 19.5".  Nary a loop had been pulled since class.  I would like to finish this before my next hooking class mid March.

So . . . I get out the tote with the pattern and wool.  I swear I did not steal borrow any of the wool to use elsewhere.  So why is wool missing?  One of hooking's little mysteries.  I think I found a couple of the wools that had been put away on shelves (now that is MOST unusual!!!) and not sure of a couple others.  I guess I am going to have to just wing it and find something close.  I thought I learned my lesson taking wool from a color planned project, but apparently not.

Only 32 days until spring.  I swear February is the looooongest month of winter in Ohio.  We are in a winter wonderland today.  I think this is the most snow we have had all winter, so I cannot complain . . . too much.

Maria Class Rug Throw Down ~

So many talented hookers in the class.  I will start with the two overacheivers.

Norita was hooking this snowman for her door (a Wooly Horse pattern).  She was hooking with all handtorn strips.  It may not look like big, but this pattern is 56" long.

Taking a break from the snowman, she started on this primitive kitties pattern.  She is not a primitive hooker but look how greatly primitive this little mat is.

Our other overachiever, Deb, finished this sweet snowman (Maria pattern) mat.

She then started this pattern (Dru Ann Jefferies pattern sold by Maria).

Jo Wick pattern that my tablemate won at last week's Crooked River hook in.

I believe this swan pattern was by Cushing.  The cattails were hooked Waldoboro style and looked so real.

Old Tattered Flag pattern.

Pris Butler pattern.  Another hooker who is not a primitive hooker but doing a fine job.

Michelle Palmer pattern.

Another Dru Jeffries pattern.

Don't know who the pattern designer is (Tulip Cross perhaps), but this pattern is HUGE, maybe 4' or 5' square.

Rita finished this fun little Maria deer.

Then went back to the rug she started last week in Kris Miller's class.  Another Old Tattered Flag pattern.

Lastly, the progress on yet another Dru pattern.  Sure doesn't look like much for 2 1/2 days of hooking . . . but at least I have it pretty much color planned 😁

Maria Barton Class ~

GREAT FUN!!!  If you ever have the opportunity to take a class with Maria, go for it.  She has many great patterns that can be found in her Etsy shop.  She is full of good ideas and shared many tips.

Here are some of the rugs she brought to share with us.

Remember back in 2021 when Saundra hosted an alternative textile rug challenge?  Maria decided to join in and this is what she hooked.  It was hooked almost entirely with t-shirts!!!  I think she said she added a bit of wool yarn but absolutely NO wool strips.  It was hard to tell that it was hooked with them.  She shared tips on how she cut the fabric and what fabrics could be used.  It really was very cool.  You can read more about the challenge here.
