Busy ~ Busy

Whew!  What a busy weekend.  I thought I’d have time to finish Henny Penny, but I didn’t even have time to pick up the hook.  I did get the lawn mowed and the few annuals I bought planted.  I still need a few more for my urns, etc.  I’d love to find the time to work in the yard this week, but I doubt  that will happen.  No time and even though I prefer summer over any other season, it is going to be stifling hot.
I spent a couple hours boxing items from the estate sale.  Hopefully I will be done with that soon and can get the items donated.  Then it will be on to getting the house ready to list.  A few things need to be done first.  My mom passed away when she was 90 and was feisty almost until the end.  A year or two before she died, she fell in the living room and broke a hole in the drywall.  The little stinker put a chair in front of it so I would not see it!  It wasn’t until MUCH later I discovered it and she was not shy in telling my why she moved the chair.  What a gal!
Katie’s hook-in was wonderful ~ as always.  It was a picture perfect day and the Kingwood Center is a beautiful venue.  Unfortunately I did not have time to walk the gardens.  Sheila, a friend I met a couple of years ago through blogging, had just finished a very large rug (of which I failed to get a picture!), so she kept me company most of the day.  Thanks, Sheila!
I shared a table with Larry Ault, Alice was across the room and Heidi was in the opposite corner.  She made me laugh when she pulled out a piece of chartreuse wool and said she considers that a neutral.  No "dirty hooking" for Heidi!

This is the first time I have sold my spoon jewelry at a hook in or show and I am pleased with the amount of sales I had.  I received many compliments on my items.  Anything to help support my habit!

I didn't have much time to look at the rugs since they were in a different building, but I did manage to take some pictures.  Here are a few of them.

Blogger is giving me fits tonight!!!  I am beginning to understand why some of you are switching!
I hope your week is off to a good start!

Monday Mumblings ~

Thank you for all your kind comments on my spoon necklaces and key chains.  Ohio Pug Rescue did not set up at Skunkfest because of thunderstorms so I don't how they would have sold.  I may post some on my blog to sell one day.
I did head about an hour south to the fall show at Quailcrest Herb Farm.  It threatened rain, but luckily held off.  Alice's booth was beautiful!  Too bad I forgot to put the memory card in my camera and because the power cord does not work, I know of no way to retrieve the pictures!
On the way home, I stopped at a couple antique shops.  At the first shop I found this little treasure.  In years past I gave a couple toy machines to my sister, but didn't have one to call my own.  I solved that problem!  I also purchased a little white ironstone soap dish and some silver plate spoons.

At the next shop I found an old sprinkling can.  Now that I have three of them, it's an official collection, right?  I also bought another lidded basket, this time a square pie one, that some day I will hook a top for.  In my dreams, I think.  I now have six of them waiting for hooked tops :)

Does anyone else have this problem?

I swear I'm not sure I could have a clean garage if my life depended on it!  It is the catch-all for all things I should get rid of but don't.  I am in the process of trying to clean it, but usually give up long before it is done and organized.
Well, so far this month, if wasn't for bad luck I'd have no luck at all.  Last week was my tooth and yesterday my cell phone went belly-up.  I had been having problems a few months ago but it seemed to heal itself so I put it out of my mind.  Of course I wanted an iPhone but really didn't want the added monthly expense.  Anyway, I bit the bullet and got one.  Now I need to learn to do more than answer a call or send a text!!!  (Can you say challenged?)
Many thanks to all my new followers.  I appreciate everyone who takes the time to read my ramblings.
Still no word on my new foster.  I'm sure it won't be too much longer.
Pug hugs :)

Whole Lot of Nuthin' ~

I can't believe another week is over!  I know it was a short work week, but oh did it fly by.  Where is the time going?
For all of you who loved the license plate pig in the last post, I'll just let you know that for only $450 (plus tax, of course), it can be yours.
Tomorrow is Skunkfest in a nearby town, and yes, there will be many skunks in attendance.  It is amazing what a popular festival it is and the number of pet skunks that people have.  There is even Skunk Rescue!  I think I will stick with Pug Rescue.  Tomorrow's weather looks pretty iffy.  I hope it cooperates because there is also the fall festival at Quailcrest Herb Farm in Wooster, Ohio, which is a wonderful outdoor show.
Here's a sampling of my latest project.  I've made these from old silverplate spoons.  These (and more) are being donated to Pug Rescue and hopefully some will sell.  We are always scrounging for money to help the pugsters :)

I made one necklace and some key chains from the handles.

My little horse mat is so close to being finished.  I thought I'd be done already, but I guess it wasn't meant to be.  I plan on it being a Christmas gift and I need to come up with 3 or 4 more quick hooks to give as gifts.  Oh, just not enough hours in the day.  If only I did not need to sleep . . . sigh.  I'm also close on finishing the binding on my proddy sheep rug.  I will share the finished products with you ~ hopefully soon.
I hope your weekend is off to a great start!  I always say a bad weekend at home is better than a good week at work {{grin}}.
Pug hugs :)
