Thank You ~

Thank you with all my heart.  Words cannot express how you have made me (us) feel.  Thank you for taking the time to let me know you care and understand.  So many of you know the grief, the heartache, the emptiness.  I know with each passing day it will get a little easier and the hurt will lessen, but for now it's almost unbearable.  Those furbabies sure do leave HUGE paw prints on the heart.  They are gone, but will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, our little princess

Words cannot describe what we are feeling.  We are numb, devastated, heartbroken.  Loocie died unexpectedly in her sleep Thursday evening while DSO was at school teaching.  She was my little girl, but she was his princess and constant companion.  She lived with him.  We are in shock.  That's two lost in seven weeks, both out of the blue.  It hurts so much. 

Please hug your furbabies and give them an extra treat or two.  Tell them how much you love them.

Winter Solstice ~

 

 

Winter officially begins today.  The good part, starting tomorrow we will have more minutes of daylight each day.  Hopefully the prediction of a mild winter will hold true in northern Ohio.  I really won't feel bad if we don't get much snow :)

 

I finished my Facebook challenge rug today and I'm doing a little happy dance.  I bound it in the wool I used for the horse (cut in an 8).  It's the first time I've bound a rug with wool strips and I'm happy with the way it turned out and it didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would.  I'll share the finish as soon as it gets a final steaming.

I will leave you with this picture of our sweet Loocie.  DSO sent this to me at work and it just made me smile.  I don't know how she can possibly be comfortable, but she sleeps like this often.

Milestone Birthday ~

 

Yesterday was Loocie's 10th birthday.  {{ I didn't want to trivialize Veterans' Day by posting this then. }}  I can't believe she is 10.  After "dating" my DSO for 10 years, he finally made a commitment.  We got a puppy and have joint custody.  Here it is 10 years later (yes, we've been together 20 years . . . lol) and we're still "dating".  {{ Love you, sweetie }}

 

Isn't she just the cutest thing?  That grey face just melts my heart.

14# of STUBBORN ~

 

How can something so little and so cute be SO STUBBORN?  If Loocie doesn't want to walk, there is no making her.  This is last night going for her walk . . . lol :)

I gave up and let her just sit there while I walked Ellie.

But look at this face.  No wonder she gets away with it.

And yet again this morning.  Nope.  No walk for Loocie.  

Most of the time she is with "daddy" and sometimes he has to carry her away from his place and hope she will walk back home.  Can you say spoiled?

 

So happy the weekend is here.  It was another awful week at work.  You'd think I'd be used to it by now :)

Mish Mosh ~

 

Just a little of this and that.  As always, I'm so happy tomorrow is Friday.  This very long week just flew by.  Does that make sense to anyone else but me?

 

I am sorry if I sounded whiney my last post.  I really didn't mean to sound that way.  I enjoy blogging and plan to continue.  Now whether I make another 900, I haven't a clue, but I will give it a try. 

 

This was the sunset over Lake Erie a couple of weeks ago.  Once the sun starts setting over the lake, it goes down fast and we barely got there in time.

 

My neighbor's magnolia (?) tree is always breathtaking.

 

Our Loocie a few weeks ago after going to the vet.  This poor little girl is just a mess.  She had a cyst on her back paw, something icky under her chin and an infection.  She is only 9 and not aging well, but she is just so DANG CUTE :)

I thought I'd be done with my robin a week ago.  I'm close but instead of being able to sit and hook now, I must go cut the grass.  The joys of home ownership.

Snug as a Pug on a Rug ~

 

When I am done hooking for the evening, I like to throw my rug down to see my progress.  Last night Loocie thought it was the perfect place to lie.

 

 

Buttermilk Basin is having a mystery block of the month and this is block #2.  The pattern can be found on their Facebook page.  I'm not sure what I will do with mine, so for now it is hanging on this little cupboard.  (The cupboard really is hanging straight.)

 

 

I did not put the "band" on the flower pot and now looking at it, it looks a little blah.  I may have to add it.

 

 

Our temps today were near 30*.  It seemed like a heat wave but we are headed to a -2 tonight.  Plus, it's snowing again.  ARGH!  I am so ready for spring.

House Guest ~

"Daddy" was going out of town today, so Loocie spent the night with us.  Isn't she just the cutest pug you ever did see?

So Ellie doesn't feel left out, here is a goofy picture of her.  She just doesn't stay still for a minute to get a decent one.  I guess that's the nature of a Jack Russell Terrier.

Tonight is Trick-or-Treat.  Here's Loocie in her Halloween finest.  She probably has a complex because she has to wear the same costume every year.  Poor Ellie can't be outside with us because she'd want to kill all the ghosts and goblins.  Little dog syndrome . . . sigh.

 

 

I really enjoyed all the comments about me considering an 8 cut "fine".  It's all relative, right?  Congrats to  Simply Primitive.  Please send me your snail mail address so I can get your package ready to send.

 My son Bill (the pumpkin roll lover) and his girlfriend Melisa (one s) on the Redondo Beach pier.

 

I love this.  It was hanging outside a restaurant.  A great re-purpose for a pallet.

???  I didn't get this.

Muscle Beach.  Venice.  I had a hard time believing the scruffy young guys in green scrubs were really doctors.  Further down the beach, they only charged $30 . . . lol.  No, I did not get my card :)

Loocie this morning.  She is just too cute :)

 

I found this today working in the yard.  Please tell me it isn't so.  Pretty please.  Since returning from vacation, the crickets are loud every evening.  It is now dark when I walk Ellie in the morning and at night.  I am so not ready for fall ~ but I guess I have no choice in the matter . . . sigh.
