More Sauder rugs~

A few of the rugs from the stained glass windows exhibit from the Buffalo Trace Rug Hookers.

Remember Jennie from the blog Over the Hill and Running?  This was her rug in the Greenfield Project, based on a 1942 pattern by William Winthrop Kent.  This was part of an exhibit by Lisanne Miller of W. Cushing and Company.

Friend Valerie's rug ~

Copper framed contemporary rug hooking.  The linen was stretched over flexible copper tubing to create the shape of the rug.  Many different mediums and techniques were used.

People/Places/Pictorials ~

That face!

The Winds of Change Challenge by the Black Swamp Rug Hookers, the guild celebrated the 30th year of Rug Hooking Week at Sauder Village.  This challenge combined the symbolic windmill logo of Sauder Village with their favorite Sauder memory.

Fusion, which I would best describe as a variety of techniques, fibers, etc in a rug.

This is just a small fraction of the rugs exhibited.  Next post I will share the Celebrations rugs which were submitted by the hooker to be judged by a committee.  The best of the best!

Sauder Rug Show ~ the end

Rug week at Sauder has been over for a week, so I will share a few final rugs with you.  No rhyme or reason, just some of my favorites.

You can't go wrong with a patriotic rug!

I've shared Donna Hrkman's self portrait before, but worth sharing again.  Be sure to read the bottom of the rug!

Saundra . . . this one's for you.  Too bad the skylights washed out the color.

Needle felted panda.  He was absolutely adorable!

Another Main Exhibit was braiding.  Beautiful, but not something I am interested in.

Sorry I failed to take a picture of the description of the exhibit.  I am just sharing a few of these beautiful rugs.  There were so many more!
