She's Baaaaack ~

For days I searched for my hook.  A friend had been over getting wool.  Sunday I sent her a text asking if there was any chance she had inadvertently taken my hook.  Nope she replied.  "I dumped my hooking bag and it is not here".  Lo and behold last night I get a text.  "So sorry.  I found your hook wrapped in the linen."   'Nuff said.  I am thankful I have my favorite hook for camp 😘  And yes.  My hook uses a female pronoun.

Summer Glory is getting ready to be bound.  Somehow I have to get it bound before I leave for camp on Sunday.  If I didn't sleep for the next couple of days I may be ready to leave Sunday at noon 😁

Here is a better picture of the color of the blue eight point stars.  Still not great but better.

This message is for Lynda, a no reply blogger.  If you get any information about Cammie, please pass it on and let her know lots of people would be interested in her patterns!

Went Missing ~

Or is it gone missing?  I haven't quite figured out that expression.

When I started hooking in 2005, my first hook purchased was an 8mm Hartman hook.  I have since purchased other Hartman hooks (figured I needed back ups in case I would lose it) and many other hooks.  I always go back to using my original one.  Five or six days ago, it went missing.  I have been using my very similar 9mm Hartman (but not the same ~ the wood handle is the same size but the wood used for the handle is heavier) figuring it would turn up quickly.  Sadly, no.  I have looked and looked and looked some more.  I have searched in the most ridiculous places.  I leave for rug camp Sunday and I want my beloved hook 😢

If I am ready to leave Sunday, it will be nothing short of a miracle.  I know I always say that . . . and somehow manage to get it all done.  I am just trying to get too many things done before leaving.  Oh well, oh hell!

She is just too cute not to share.

Just a Couple Hooky Things ~

I finally did it.  I broke down and bought another Hartman hook.  One of my biggest fears was losing/misplacing mine.  (After many months, I still haven't found my proddy tool.)  I have several other hooks, but have been hooking with my Hartman since day one and have not had any success with any other hook.  I was all set to buy one at the hook in from Alice.  Thankfully she let me "test drive" the pear handle hook (she didn't have any ball handle hooks) and for the way I hold the hook, it just didn't work out.  I know you are supposed to periodically switch hooks so your wrist gets a break, but I ended up buying the same ball handle hook I had, except that the shank is a 9 mm rather than an 8 mm.  I found a couple sites that sold them but they wanted $9.95 for shipping.  I HATE being gouged on shipping, so finally found one on etsy with a better shipping deal.

Another great tool I recently purchased ~ at the pet store.  I heard dog brushes were good for cleaning gripper strips, and let me tell you, this one works great and it was about $5.00 on sale. It cleans the strips much faster than anything else I had tried.

I know, boring post, but just wanted to pop in and say hi.  I thought I'd have Hearts and Clover done by now, but just can't seem to find any time to hook.
