Last Minute Finishes ~

Just finishing up a few things for vending.  Heading out before the crack of dawn tomorrow to vend at Woolkeepers in Danville, IN, a 5+ hour drive.  The previous promoter sadly passed away a few years ago, and I have heard the hook in is not what it used to be.  I am soon to find out.  I just don't understand why people don't promote their events when it is free to do so on Facebook.

These darn pumpkins on antique coverlet pieces are much more work than they appear . . . or maybe I am just slow.  (Ugh.  The colors are so washed out but I don't have time to try again 😟)

Little pinkeeps on antique paisley and coverlet . . . not something I enjoy making.  I am not much of a sewer.  I just need to find a few things to make other than my silverplate jewelry.  I have been selling it for so many years that many have already purchased it.

Don't your just love this little dovetailed box with heart escutcheon?  When purchased, the lid was long gone.

Today's list is long so I'd better get back to it!!!

I leave you with this little funny.  "See" you next week.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

The Crickets are Singing . . .

. . . and the deer are voracious.  I did not use any deer repellant this year (not that any I have found work that great) and they have decimated some of my hostas.  Some they eat and others they leave alone.  I guess I have picky deer.

My volunteer sunflower is so sweet.

My pond is teeny tiny.  3' in diameter.  I bought seven $.17 feeder fish and two survived.  They started out at maybe 1 1/2" and now must be 4" long and pretty fat.  That is fish food floating in the water.  I feed them pretty good.

My only accomplishment has been to finish these pinkeeps.  Kind of pathetic, don't you think?

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Monday Happenings ~

I have been working on odds and ends for weeks.  Trying to make things for the show where I will be vending in October.  I am trying so hard not to be my usual procrastinating self.

Binding is nearly complete on these two little designs.  This sweet bunny pattern is by My Winter Cottage and the pdf be found in her Etsy shop.  I enlarged her design by 50% and added the clamshells.

A quick fall pattern I have hooked a couple times already.  The free pattern can be found here along with a few other fall freebies.

These hearts will have a wool backing and be lightly stuffed with wool snippets.  They can be used as bowl fillers or tucked in to an old bedspring.  Two larger ones are at the top of the picture.

And finally, I sewed up these pinkeeps.  They just need to be stuffed and have a rusty pin and old buttons put on.

Even though I have had a Cricut for over a year, I am still Cricut stupid.  I know the most basic of the basics.  I just don't take the time to learn.  I prefer to be shown.  Today I was finally able to attend a class at our local library.  (They fill up so quickly and I have never been able to get in.)  Well, the librarian teaching the class didn't even know she was to teach it until it was class time.  She knew about as much about the Cricut as I do, which as I said, isn't much.  It was to be basic class . . . make a monogram for your phone case.  She really hadn't a clue and I learned absolutely nothing.  That is an hour and a half of my life I will never get back . . . sigh.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

A Finish ~

I really am not good at "finishing" a cross stitch project.  I enjoy the stitching and then put them in a shoebox to languish.  I knew this most recent project would need to be totally finished ~ and soon ~ if it was going to be gifted on Christmas Day.  As I posted previously, the stitching gave me some fits but I persevered.  Yesterday was the day!  I must say I am happy with the way it turned out.  I have very little fabric stash but did have the perfect fabric for the back.

I wasn't sure if I would like the vintage tinsel around the edge, but I love it!  I really don't want to gift it . . . but will along with the little vintage Santa boot . . . which I would also love to keep 😁

I thought I would share some of my holiday rugs.  I have given away many more than I have kept!  This is the most recent one I gave away.  Mr. Jingles, pattern by Notforgotten Farm.

These first rugs are ones I won on blog give-aways many years ago.  This one is from Sandi Lucero.

From Kelly Belfast.

And a pillow from Joanne Walker.  When I got it, my foster dog ate some of the French knot snowflakes.

Some that I have hooked.
Pattern by DoodleDog Primitives

Michelle Palmer (his coat is actually a subtle blue)

Lori Rippey

Inspired by friend Lynn's rug

One of the first rugs I drew out and hooked in 2005.

Snowman was a class with Marlene Troyer a few years ago.

Now if I were more organized, I could show you some of the others I have gifted, but organization is not my forte!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Cricut ~

For Christmas, my son J and his girlfriend Crystal gifted me a Cricut Maker.  Initially, I tried to do a few things with it, but with Sauder looming, it just sat there.  I didn't even remember how to turn it on.  Technology and I don't play nice together.  Last night Crystal came and gave me a crash course on making ornaments.  When she was here, I muddled through one . . . but today I had to put on my big girl panties and figure it out.  Normally I write everything down, but this time did not.  Through trial and error, I did it!!!

The ornaments start out like this . . .

And end up like this . . .

A few little pinkeeps I made.

We have been so hot and humid.  As much as I dislike those 90* days, I would still take it over winter any day.  As a bonus, a thunderstorm is now passing through.  The rain is most welcome 😀

Thanks so much for stopping by.
