Happy Valentine's Day ~

Hooked heart pieces and miscellaneous hearts around the house.

One of the first pieces I hooked 20+ years ago.

A sweet Valentine postcard from a new online friend 💘

Hooked pillow on my grandma's rocker.  (The cat's paw chairpad was a hook-along with Saundra early in 2020.  Remember that horrible lockdown period?)

I didn't realize how many hearts I had around the house until I started taking pictures.  I know I am missing at least one thing, a paper heart from my "evil twin".  Where the heck did I put it?

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Valentine hugs and kisses to all 💕

ADHD

My hooking concentration level is almost non-existent.  I go from one thing to the next.

I did fully finish this heart pillow made with handtorn strips.

These little hearts are ready for a backing and to be stuffed with wool snippets.

One little heart has been glued to the slide lid top cigar box.

And yet another heart, just a bit larger, is ready to be glued to an old cutting board.

I have pulled a few loops on my camp rug.  I finished hooking the branches and leaves.

I had a hooking group get together today and since I haven't decided what I want to do with the background on the deer rug, quickly drew a large heart.  It is about 9" at the widest and about 24" long.  The other day at the local wool shop I got some old barnboard so I plan to mount it to one of those.  I used 6-7 different red wools and they aren't as dark in person.  Some days I totally enjoy mindless hooking 😁

That's it, dear friends.

Congrats ~

Today I am meeting myself coming and going ~ well, not too much different than most days ~ but just wanted to pop in and say congrats to Kimm (kcmrugs) in Canada.  She has a post box in Maine so will have to cross the border to pick up her 💖.  Kimm, you have three days to contact me to let me know which little heart pillow you would like.  {{The red/red orange one that I had shown in the original give-away post has already been sent to a friend, so I hope that is not the first one you would have chosen . . . lol!}}

And the backs so you can see the wool used.  All are as-is wools except for the heart on the far right.

Somehow I will find make time to pull a few loops on my Granny rug today.  My goal is to hook one animal or person a day!!!  Let's see how that works out 😁

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Still Not Done ~

I am still not done putting the Christmas decorations away.  Usually they come down quickly but for whatever reason it's not happening this year.  I have been working on it for a week.  I am close, but not close enough for my liking.  Then it's time to redecorate.  I hope I can figure out where I put all the "normal" stuff.  I know some is in the attic, more in the basement, in cupboards and even a few things under the bed.  I don't put them in the Christmas totes because I like to take everything down before starting to decorate.  I know that would make more sense, but sometimes I am lacking in that department 😁

I've gotten two of the heart pillows made.  At least three to go but since they hook up so quickly, I may make a couple more.  Two are going to Ohio friends, two for the pug fundraiser and one for the give-away here on my blog.  (There is still time to enter.  See the previous post.)  Santa is ready to bind and I've gotten out Ole Jack and hope to pull a few loops soon.

So for the last couple of days in my spare time 😂 I decided to dye wool.  Didn't quite go as planned but the last pot is cooling down now.

Saturday the Granny rug challenge starts that Saundra is hosting.  You can find information on her blog if you are interested in joining in.  My pattern is on linen but I need to start pulling some wool.  I really need to pick my background wool first and can't decide if I want to go with my normal dark background or something lighter like Granny Donaldson used.  Here is the Granny I plan to hook.  (Ignore the white dots.  They are from a screen shot.)

Thanks so much for stopping by.

A Few Finishes ~

Winter in Ohio continues to be mild.  No complaints from me.  Last eve we got a dusting of snow.  By this afternoon it was all gone.

The four hearts I hooked with handtorn strips are D.O.N.E., sewn in to little pillows.  I backed them with the wool I used to hook them.  No patchwork backs this time.  I've shown the wools so you could see how they hook up.  Oh, how I do love plaids 😉

It's hard to tell, but the wool used on the heart on the right is reversible.

Surgery-wise, I am doing okay.  There is a bit of pain, but not too bad . . . though I am taking pain meds.  I've never used a walker before (thank goodness!) and that is causing me arm, neck and shoulder pain.  I have my first post op on Wednesday.  I am going on the assumption that all is well.  All day today I have felt like I am just spinning my wheels.  I feel I should be accomplishing miracles since I am basically sitting, but have had a serious motivation problem.  I'm hoping tomorrow will be better.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Happy Valentine's Day ~

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY

I was just going to post a couple hearts, but when I started taking pictures, I had more than I realized.

Hanging on the cupboard knob is the darling punch needle heart gifted to me by friend Bobbie (the Evening Stitcher).  Wrought iron heart candle holder and an antique reproduction hooked rug with heart motifs.

On the chair beneath, hooked heart by friend Karin.

This amazing crazy quilt heart is from sweet Julia in South Carolina.  Excluding the handle, it measure close to a foot.

And from Melinda (Merry Wind Farm), this perfectly stitched heart on a vintage oil can.  I am blessed with amazingly talented (and generous!!!) friends.

In the living room, a bowlful of hearts, mostly from vintage quilts and antique coverlets.

Hooked rug hanging on the dining room cupboard.  Pattern by Red House Wool Studio.

A {not old} bear holding one of my hooked hearts.

And lastly, Cupid purchased from Olde Lady Morgan more than a few years ago.

I hope your day has been wonderful.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Pug hugs :)
