Monday Update ~

I've decided each Monday in September, I will do an update on my ambitious project list.  I figure it will help keep me on track 😊

Primitive Gobbler - bind - label

Jack's Crow - bind - label

Santa - hook - bind - label

Scaredy Cat - pattern to linen - hook - bind - label

Pumpkin for wood boxpattern to linen - hook - bind - label

Acorns - pattern to linen - hook - bind

Hand torn pumpkins - patterns to linen - hook - patchwork back

Horse mat - applique

5" pumpkin - applique

RLS pumpkin - find kit (!) - applique

Here is progress so far.

Primitive Gobbler ~ DONE 👍👍👍  I darkened three of the feathers . . . but in the picture they are still showing a bit bright but not in person.

Last Sunday I was bragging how quickly Santa was hooking up.  Well, not sure what happened . . . but I am finally close.  I need some kind of beauty line to define his mustache.  I was hoping how I hooked it would work but obviously does not.

Pumpkin for the wood box.  It's only 4 1/2" x 12" so a quickie.

Since it's in the box, I cheated and did not use binding.  I just turned back the linen and stitched down.

Horse mat.  The background wool is an old army blanket and the horse is an old (army?) blanket, too.  I've used neither for applique  before and it may be the first and last time.  It's much more of an effort to stitch through the heavy wools and my arthritic thumb is not liking it.

We are getting some much needed rain today.  My grass and flowers are doing a happy dance.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

I love them all, but especially the turkey!! I am a list maker too, it is a really good way to help me remember what all I need to do. I have today lists, this week list, eventually when I have time list. Hope you had a nice weekend and the little stinkers are getting along better :) Melinda

Love them....Alot of hookers are using other textiles etc with wool...maybe a strand of wool yarn hooked to seperate the mustache from the beard a brown maybe ????
its looking awesome though ...

I think rosy cheeks should define his mustache. You are very ambitious and are getting a lot done. It all looks nice. Your horse is looking great and your stitching is so perfect. I'm a list maker also. If I didn't have a list, I would be in trouble in getting projects done. Especially since I'm retired.
Happy Labor Day.
Hugs, Julia

WOW!!!!! Great accomplishments! I've managed to print out 6 rug labels on previous work and only stitched on two so far. But did start a new project.

Love the finishes and looking forward to seeing how you do santa's mustache because I've got one started that needs help on that as well. I started a paper list that is sitting on my craft table and I even went so far to assign "deadlines" but that was in Feb before Covid. Now I should say it's all done but instead the paper just sits there taunting me whenever I walk thru looking for Clarice. I really need some inspiration or at least a shot of Red Bull to get me started again.

That's a great idea in listing your WIPS....I need to do something like that but I'm afraid it would take up three day of blogging!! I love your Santa rug! I'm finally getting my Snap-dragon back from a gal I let borrow in early February (don't ask), so I'm hoping to finish a rug I started last fall. Have a great evening!!

Just love that pumpkin in the box. I am a huge list maker. Sometimes they help, sometimes not. It helps if I look at them every day...lol.

I have lists of my lists....I swear...but it is useless to even think of doing a list of stitching/hooking/punching/etc. projects. I wouldn't even know where to begin....or where to stop LOL. And, sigh...after a week, there would be nothing new to take off...add, maybe....crossthrough? nope....ain't happening. Heck, these days I am not even keeping up with blog posts if you couldn't tell. Your Gobbler and box pumpkin turned out awesomely..... And hmmm about the mustache on Santa....yeah, think there needs to be a little something....maybe just a tad shade darker of wool for that??? Wow...you posted this on Monday and here it is almost Thursday already. Yikes. ~Robin~

I have a prim Santa by Michelle Palmer that I began to hook this sumer. I got to his face and just couldn't get it right. I've never hooked a face before! I pulled the face hooking out and tucked the rug away until I can "face" it again. : )
Yours is coming along swell!
