Feature Exhibits at Sauder ~

One of the Feature Exhibits was hooked artwork inspired by the illustrations and painting of David Galchutt.  I am always in awe of these rugs.  Not something I would ever attempt to hook, but admired nonetheless.

Another Feature Exhibit was rugs that were punched and rugs done with yarn.  Amy Oxford, the inventor of the Oxford Punch Needle, was a vendor.

A special tribute to Judy Carter who recently passed away.

So much more to share.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

Terrific display. I hadn’t known that Judy died. What an incredible talent she was. Sad.

Judy Carter was a Wonderful hooker and will be missed. She did amazing work with a wide cut for the realistic appearance of animals. Thanks for the show, even for those pieces which we wouldn't hook but admire their talent.

Oh my oh my oh my!!! What spectacular and incredible talent under one roof. It must have been awesome to be there.

I'm saddened by the passing of Judy Carter. What a loss for the rug hooking community.
Her realistic hooked animals took my breath away. You are one lucky girl to have seen her work up close.

Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Julia

These are just INCREDIBLE! I think there must be a reason I don't get to go to things like this after all...I'd feel so completely inadequate. The level of detail in the first exhibit's rugs is mind boggling. And while there are many there that I absolutely love, the ones I love the very best are the Judy Carter rugs. Wow...just WOW!! Will be waiting anxiously for the next 'installment." (Good girl that you thought of your blogging frens and took so many wonderful photos!) ~et~

All the rugs are gorgeous, but Ms Carter nailed capturing those animals, especially the eyes. A great talent, and probably lots of hard work to get those results.
