It's About Time ~

Shady Spot was started at Cedar Lakes Rug Camp early in May with Jyl Robbins.  A pattern by LJ Fibers, it is an adaptation of an antique needlework purse.  I thought I would have it done LOOOONG ago.  Then I was sure I would finish it (or at least be close) at the two day Shipshewana hook in at the end of July.  And now . . . the hooking is finally done.  (And Sue . . . I did not change the color of the googly eyes.)  As usual, color is all wrong 😓 She is a biggie for me at 26" x 36".  Next?  The dreaded binding!!!  Next on the frame?  Perhaps just a small piece if I find a spare minute before my Kris Miller class next week.

The Best Laid Plans . . .

. . . sometimes fall apart.  If you have been reading my blog long, you know that I am the master procrastinator.  Most unusual, but by Thursday afternoon I was about 95% ready to head out Friday morning to vend in Indiana.  It wasn't meant to be.  A family matter came up that was more of a priority than vending.  Good thing my vending stuff doesn't go bad.  Thank you for all the vending good wishes.  There will be other opportunities.

I leave you with a bit of humor.

Last Minute Finishes ~

Just finishing up a few things for vending.  Heading out before the crack of dawn tomorrow to vend at Woolkeepers in Danville, IN, a 5+ hour drive.  The previous promoter sadly passed away a few years ago, and I have heard the hook in is not what it used to be.  I am soon to find out.  I just don't understand why people don't promote their events when it is free to do so on Facebook.

These darn pumpkins on antique coverlet pieces are much more work than they appear . . . or maybe I am just slow.  (Ugh.  The colors are so washed out but I don't have time to try again 😟)

Little pinkeeps on antique paisley and coverlet . . . not something I enjoy making.  I am not much of a sewer.  I just need to find a few things to make other than my silverplate jewelry.  I have been selling it for so many years that many have already purchased it.

Don't your just love this little dovetailed box with heart escutcheon?  When purchased, the lid was long gone.

Today's list is long so I'd better get back to it!!!

I leave you with this little funny.  "See" you next week.

Whole Lotta Nothin' ~

I know it really isn't, but to me Labor Day signals the end of summer 😢.  I am never ready for summer to end, but the cooler temps in our forecast are most welcome.

The other morning on my walk thru the rose garden at Lakeview Park, roses were still beautiful.

But then I saw this.

Also on my walk, I noticed this.  I guess I need to be more observant!

My tree lawn was hydro seeded last week and the deer have decided to walk thru the dirt and leave "deer divots" 😡

Driving last week I looked at my odometer and saw this 😁.  I do hope my car is like the Energizer bunny and keeps going and going and going!

I know other bloggers are having issues with comments coming thru as "no reply" bloggers.  I have been fortunate to not yet have that issue, but Maureen, if you have tried to correct it, you have been unsuccessful as you are still a no reply.  Send me your email and I will be happy to respond to you directly.

Like I said, this post was a whole lotta nothin'!!!

I leave you with this food for thought.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
