Spinning My Wheels ~

A couple days ago I decided it was time to start taking down Christmas.  I have gotten a bit done, but it is so disjointed.  I am working a little bit here and a little bit there with no rhyme or reason as to what I am doing 😒  In due time it will all get done, but I am getting a bit anxious.  Then after everything is taken to the attic, I need to figure out where I put all the "regular" stuff to put that back out.

Tuesday I decided to head to a local hooking group.  I needed something totally no brainer to hook, so grabbed a piece of linen and drew a couple hearts to be hooked with hand torn strips.  I got one done while there and hooked another that evening.  Then I saw on Facebook that a non-profit organization that provides assistance and support to pugs in medical need was having an auction in February and was looking for items to auction.  I contacted the head of the group (who I know because of pug rescue) to see if she was interested in a couple of hooked pillows.  She said those would be perfect for a February auction so that is my motivation to get them done.

Thanks to hooky friend Lynn for the winter poem!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

Your hooked heart pillows will be perfect for a February auction! Great timing!
I am working on putting away Christmas too, why is it so much more fun to put it out at the beginning of the season?
Stay warm!

I hope you will not stress over the Xmas things. All in good time, all in God's time. There is a reason for it taking awhile. "Don't push the river," as they said in the 60s! If you had stayed and done the taking-down, you would have missed making those hearts! They are so pretty and just the perfect things for the puggie-help auction. Your "poem" is very succinct! We might be up to 70 today, but the northern climes will have their revenge when it's 110 in June.

You always make wonderful heart pillows and they will bring in the money for the cause. My sentiments exactly for the poem but it could have had the words Shit it's more snow'

Bless your heart(s) for offering your heart pillows for the pug rescue. I'm sure the Pug Rescue will really appreciate your generosity. Hearts for Valentine is perfect.

I still have my Nativity out and still enjoy it every day. It's the only stable thing in our lives right now.
So what, if it takes you a month to take down all your decorations. You are the master of your home and there are no decoration police that I know of who will come knocking at your door.

Be happy, safe, and well.
Hugs, Julia

Oh s***, I forgot to comment on the poem. In this cold weather, the only thing that's warm is s*** when it comes out but then it freezes harder than rock.

Rest assured that no matter how long it takes you to take your Christmas down (and you had a sh*tload!), it will indubitably take me longer as I can't even start until I get back to Nod...and then it won't be at the top of my list of things to do. Trust me. And, crap...I have "regular" stuff from Christmases long past I have yet to find. You know I love your hearts...and what a "heart"-felt thing to do. LOL...that poem pretty much says it all... Cold here too...really cold....negative numbers cold. 🥶 ~et~

Good poem we are going below zero for the next few days kind of sums it up. Your hearts are perfect for an auction. I put some things away and cleaned out the closet that it all goes in 2 bags to the garbage 2 bags to give to the thrift and I feel much better

I am still trying to find stuff I stashed in my attic years ago that I still have not found. LOL What a great cause to help a pug rescue. Those hearts should be a hit! Good luck taking your Christmas down. I have not even started yet. Janice

For the first time, husband does not want decorations to end. Today, I finally started packing what little I put out this year. I box within totes and KNOW which were together in which tote but they won't fit back in! WTH??? Sweet hearts for the puggies.

Finally got all of my stuff put away, and like you, now I am looking for the other stuff to put back. Why don’t I just pack them in the Christmas tubs, and there the’ll be when I take the Christmas stuff down. But I never think of that at the time. I am sure pig rescue will be thrilled to have your pieces. I know that I love my pumpkin. Have a great weekend!!
