I Resisted . . . Until ~

~ I went to the antique mall.  I was being so good.  I had not purchased one Christmas item this year . . . I mean not even a Christmas ball.  That changed the other day . . . sigh.

Two cotton batting Santas (not sure if that's what they are called . . . having a senior moment) and and salt glaze Eldreth Santa dated 1985.

Plastic choir boy from the 50's . . .

. . . joined fellow choir members.

This vintage Halloween piece was just too sweet to leave behind.

Why does everything take so much longer than you think it should?  I have boxes that need mailing.  I've sporadically worked on them for two days and they still are not ready to ship.  I've also been wrapping gifts for two days and really didn't have many to wrap.  Those are finally done and I am down to needing to buy only 5 more gifts and 2 of them are gift cards 😁

Well, the boxes need attention because they WILL get mailed tomorrow.  I know USPS is behind.  A box I mailed last Monday just made it to Cleveland today according to their tracking info . . . and that's about 30 miles from the starting point.  Holy moley!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

the post office is crazy! I mailed something to my daughter over a week ago and still she does not have it and it is in the same state about 30 miles.
I love your new finds I am trying very hard to be good as I did a big clean out this year and need to do more. but Oh I love them

Love that salt glazed Santa!!!!!! Good grief 30 miles took that damn long? They must have a central shipping area it goes to first before being separated into locales. But still you could have driven it there in less than an hour. USPS isn't just a little behind.....I think they are low on performance say incompetent?

Your choir collection is growing. I can understand why you couldn't resist. The devil made you do it.

Again, this Christmas, I'm not shopping for stuff. I'm giving money as gifts. Grammarly was correcting my spelling and wanted me to give "you" money. Lol...

Today I'm finally decorating my tree. I had the lights on last evening and was too tired to decorate the rest. When I was young, the only thing that was decorated for Christmas was the tree.

Stay safe and well.
Hugs, Julia

Well, at least you actually decorate. I tell myself I am not buying any more and I do...and I don't decorate LOL. Sometimes it feels like I just buy new decorations every year LOL. But you made some great choices. It is impossible to find old batting pieces...or spun cotton ones...in these parts it seems. Then again, I haven't been remotely near an antique store in probably a year. Wow...can't believe that....and I really just realized that now. I did start making a few batting pieces of my own last year....but didn't even get them out this year. And your twinness is showing again...I have several of the saltglaze Santas....only 2 here at the lake, but many more at home. Think I have a photo on my ipad somewhere....will share if I come across it. Sounds like you are single-handedly keep USPS in business....yikes on all the packages. No tree this year or last...and no presents. I put out a few things at the lake only because Mark and Mel came up Saturday to take care of a few things for me and felt I should have a few things out. Kinda pathetic actually. And gee....I mailed a bday card out a week before Mummy Dearest's bday...and she still hasn't received it. Hope you have better luck with your packages. ;-) Happy Monday...or whatever the heck day it is. ~Robin~

I have been collecting those santas now too. Love them! Hope you get your packages out as I think the mail is slow this year. your antique store purchases are simply charming and were meant to be yours. Janice

Want to go to your antique mall. I went to three the other day and they didn’t have a single vintage Christmas item....all repros. I am green...lol. I started wrapping today and didn’t last long. But they are all for here. Of course, we are celebrating on Sunday.

USPS is bad this year. I mailed 2 boxes on the 3rd,1 to Delaware and 1 to Maryland. Maryland still waiting on their package.

I am impressed you found time to go antiquing. That sounds like so much fun and I always am impressed with the things you find.
I keep hearing how bad the post office is this year. I am glad I am not mailing anything. I was just thinking that about myself just yesterday, why does it seem like I am getting slower.
I have been working on a birthday present for someone and its taken me so long.
I hope you have a wonderful day.

It's OK Lauren. It's been a tough year and whether you need them or not, they bring a smile and joy. We've had a lot of deaths here recently from Covid so I decided to stay home except for doc visits. But if I had an antique shop nearby, all bets off.

I'm amazed at your accomplishments. Great finds with the Christmas Santa's and Halloween. Am hoping to go to antique mall next week--it will be so good to search for treasures.
