Little Leaves ~

Hooking is progressing on my Tree of Life, though of course more slowly than I would like :(  I am so tired of hooking little leaves, but I am nearing the end and can soon start on background.

Many years ago I facilitated the adoption of a pug named Wilma to a local woman, Darlene.  Darlene and I became friends, and after DSO adopted Ernestine, she was our go to pug sitter.  Two years ago she broke my heart when she moved away (she was THE BEST pug sitter) . . . but she is in Ohio for a week so I took a little road trip today.  We sat on the shore of Lake Erie and talked like she had never been gone.  Ernestine was happy to see her.  I do believe the feeling was mutual :)

Well . . . more whining from me.  We need a do over for 2020.  The year that wasn't.  I was to leave tomorrow for a 3 day class with Cindi Gay.  On Friday it got cancelled with it possibly being rescheduled for September, but it will not happen this year . . . sigh.  Another October hook in has been cancelled and one in September has a 99% chance of not happening.  Even though I was not attending, the rescheduled rug camp in Ligonier, PA has also bitten the dust.  I know in the scheme of things my complaints are petty, but I sure do miss my old life!

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

Nice you could visit with your pet-sitter. Oh but wouldn't it be great if things could be like they were before the CHINESE virus. OH OH... I hear strong thunder outside and received severe storm warnings so will get off the computer.

Your Tree of Life rug looks so nice already. You always choose such nice colors.
It looks like a fun rug to hook. It's been so long since I hooked, I may have forgotten how...
I'm so happy for you that your pug sitter came by and you were able to connect for a little get together. She looks like a sweetheart with Ernestine.

I'm sorry you've had your rug hooking venues all canceled. It really sucks. I'm lucky, I guess, I've been so busy weeding and just been busy, period to not having time to miss anything. My son was sick today so I went to weed his garden. He's not not much of a weeder because he waits till the weeds come to seeds before weeding. Luckily, none have come to seed yet in his garden.

I hope something special happens to you again this week to get you out of the rut.

Hugs, Julia

I love that tree and the colors. I rescued a wild little long haired something or other after trying to catch her for a year. I visited her new family a year later and that little shit went NUTS when she saw me. They never forget. What they go through when scum drop them off and leave them looking for their family is heartbreaking.

I love that tree, but I am in agreement with you, I never noticed until you said that, but there is a lot of leaves.
Hey since I was sitting here feeling sorry that you can't go to rug camp, what if we did a virtual rug camp. I can't do it now of course, but it might be fun to try at some point. We move on Friday so I am going to be out of commission. It was just an idea. You know just about everyone that hooks. Well I think you do, you are so well connected. Then you wouldn't have to have a do over for 2020. Personally, I wouldn't want a do over, I want to just get through it. Kind of like labor. :)

I am lucky and have a neighbor who pet sits, she takes good care of the kitties and I can trust her in the house.
It really is a sad year, I was so looking forward to camping more and getting out, but I can't go anywhere without crowds or people who don't get the concept of wearing a mask or staying away, they will brush right by, so I only go places that I have room to walk further away. With the heat, it is hard to go camping locally, most parks have the ponds closed off to swimming.

What we (well, a lot of us anyways) wouldn't give to have life as we knew it...even if it wasn't grand then, it really is even more than less than grand now. :-( And dogs, like elephants, never forget I swear. So glad you and Ernestine had a reunion with Darlene.. Good pet sitters, like good friends, are hard to come by. It has limited our travels...and my peace of mind...on too many occasions to count. One more reason for the lake getaway...at least Snow Dog and the fur cats can come with us there. Love that first photo. Would love to have been there to see them go by. <3 ~Robin~

Love your rug Lauren. I've been working on a rug, but find it so hot hooking this week with no air conditioning and temps in the 90's. Love that sweet Pug.

LOVE that first pic!!! :-)
So glad that you were able to get together with Darlene! It's a beautiful thing to have genuine friendships that last a lifetime! :-)
I agree.... a do over for 2020 would be nice... I did not think I did much, until I was forbidden to do any of it? ;-)

Beautiful, soft colors in that new rug. All of those cancellations stink. My Crafters Retreat in October cancelled. What a nice break in the COVID craziness to be able to spend some time with your pug friend. Ernestine looks pleased.
