Around the House ~

Usually by now I am in a frenzy to get everything Christmas put away, but this year I have decided to leave it up for a few extra days since I am enjoying it so much.  The house always looks so gloomy when the glow of tree lights is gone.  My decorating is very similar from year to year.  If Christmas is out of your mind until next November or December, you may want to skip this post :)  I am just getting around to sharing  some pictures.

It's official.  I now have a collection of vintage paper mache Santa boots.

I figure if people can post selfies taken in a bathroom, I can share my bathroom tree.  (Doesn't that make you crazy?)

Tree is all vintage Santas and tiny vintage glass bells.

1950's hard plastic Santas.

My collection of choir boys is growing ~ and so is the salt glaze Santa collection.

Snowmen!

My only vintage feather tree with new and vintage glass ornaments.

Everything patriotic :)  God Bless the USA.

Only Santas on this tree.

A few special gifts.

Felted wool wreath.

Vintage wind up Santa with key . . . though he doesn't work well he is still cute as can be.

Hand made fired clay Santa.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments and emails on my Cindy Lou Who post.  They made my day.  Also my last post . . . everyone thought it was a great read and advice we should all heed.

I hope your new year is off to a good start.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

spectacular as always. I am in the works of taking some things down. I will leave my tree up for awhile as I have all vintage ornaments on it and I love having it plugged in when I am hooking in the evening.
Happy New Year.

When we lived in NH I bought snowmen and lanterns and cardinals to put out when we took down the Christmas tree and trimmings down. It helped stave off the January gloom.

I can't believe how much Christmas stuff you have! It all looks just wonderful! That is a full time job getting it all out and putting it all away. The only Christmas collection I have it that I have started collecting those celluloid deer, as my mother have a few. And this year I didn't even put them out:( I also have some antique choir boys that belonged to my grandmother, but it never dawned on me to collect more. I guess I also have a "collection" of vintage angels, but I never thought of it that way. I love all your samplers on the walls, when I try to enlarge the picture a darn pop up blocks it. I was glad to see Elizabeth Shepherd, this is the first time I had seen her and I wondered where she went. You are the Christmas decorator extraordinaire!! Melinda

I sure wouldn't be looking forward to packing up all that stuff. Guess I've lost my Christmas decorating mojo. But then I visit family vs them coming here so why bother? I bring out my Christmas rugs and a couple items but not to the degree you do.

Hi Lauren,
I am SO GLAD you shared your wonderful Christmas photos!!! I LOVE IT ALL!!!! I am also keeping mine out a bit longer as I only decorated a few days before Christmas this year and want to enjoy it!!! You have some wonderful collections and I enlarged several of the photos to see things better!! All of your samplers look so beautiful behind things and just add to the beauty!! I will miss the lights when I take things down as I just love their soft glow!
Take care and enjoy Christmas a little bit longer! It really doesn't last long enough anyway!!

Never tire of seeing your collections. That is a LOT of work packing and unpacking but you probably have the bins organized. How you've been able to acquire so many great items amazes me. I have several trees, not as many as you, but not enough ornaments for them all. Enjoy it for another week!! After all, it's Molly first Christmas with you.

Your home is so beautifully decorated! If my holiday home resembled yours...I'd be leaving it decorated for awhile longer too! I had completely forgotten about that tinsel tree! I love those with the shiny brites on them...and of course I love that felted wool wreath too! So many treasures!

Wait...you have seen selfies in the bathroom? Gosh, I must be living in a box, I haven't seen that yet. I do love when you share your Christmas collections. I love them and love to see them all out. I also like to see how you have them arranged. With your rugs too. It always makes me so happy to see things that I remember seeing when they were new. ;0
I think they have aged wonderfully. It does feel sad when the lights are gone. That is always hard for me.
I hope you have a wonderful New Year Lauren.

Great Christmas. Still enjoy seeing it. Love all of your santas and that felted wreath is so nice too! I am transitioning my Christmas decor to Winter themes, so I can enjoy the lights at night still. So glad you have a collection of boots now. Great finds! Janice

Wow, your Christmas decor is absolutely amazing. I'm some glad that I don't have to put it all away. I get tired just thinking of all the work... With the photos, you can see how everything is set up for next year's decorations. It will be here in a flash again.
Stay safe and warm.
Happy New Year my sweet faithful friend.

Lauren - I LOVE your picture walk thru your Christmas wonderland. Your home should be in a magazine - it's fantastic. I can't say how much I love it all - I know it's a huge amount of work to put up and take down but it's so wonderful - you should leave it up as long as it gives you pleasure. My folks leave theirs up sometime till Feb. Mom said she loves all the lights and looking at her collections. There is no Christmas police coming to take you away. I read the prior blog post - some real sage advice there and some I hope to take to heart myself. I hope your new year is starting off just right and you have many happy times to come. Mel

I always leave mine up in January, nice to take a break from the craziness of Christmas and enjoy them a little longer.
