What happened to May?

Welcome back. I can’t believe it’s June already, can you?
These little buggers are one of the joys of being so close to Lake Erie (about two blocks)...lol! The closer to the lake you get, the more you have. They’re known as midgies, mayflies, sand flies, lake flies, muffleheads. Whatever you call them, they are annoying! They kind of look like mosquitoes and gather in the grass, flowers and shrubs. Walk by and thouands will swarm you, but thankfully, they don’t bite. At night you can hear the sky buzzing and sometimes see black clouds of them. They say that having so many is a sign that the lake is healthy, but getting any yard work done is impossible. When they are gone, it will be time for the Canadian soldiers, but that is another post!
Please enjoy a few pictures from my yard.

I hope your week is off to a great start.

Until next time. Lauren

Lauren - your flowers are gorgeous! I can't wait to see some of your rugs - I showed dogs for 25yrs so I know how tough the world of rescue can be. You are to be commented for your work in that area. I am also a stitcher of repro samplers and smalls but I love rug hooking very much too. I refuse to get involved in needle punch LOL but I love the way it looks. Melody

Woolwoman ~ Thank you so much for your comments! I went to your blog to try to find your email, but didn't find it. I will soon post rugs. You should really try punch needle. It's a real no-brainer, cheap compared to rug hooking and very portable. I am the world's slowest hooker and punch needle is the almost instant gratification I need on occasion. Thank you for linking me on your blog. I haven't yet figured out how to do that. Hopefully soon! Thank you again for dropping by ;-)
