I really want to hook. I want to finish my Magdalena horses rug. Have I been working on it? Barely. I want to hook a Maggie Bonanomi pattern. I want to hook a hit and miss rug with hand torn strips like Cathy G over at Orange Sink hooked. (I have rug envy!) There are so many things I want to hook, but I'm not hooking!
Here are a few things I've been working on instead. I just punched this little fall mat ~ a design by Kelly Belfast. I've even sewed on the backing (and Woolfind Kathy-I've labeled it!).
I finished the second of the Pat Cross Bird Dog punch needle pieces ~ once again the back is on and labeled.
Here are a couple of cross stitch patterns I have finished. They need to be aged a bit and then I must figure out how I will finish them.
The first is a little Stacy Nash freebie pattern found over at Pattern Mart. It was charted as Emma age 6, but I changed it to Eema age 8. (Eema is doing so well. I'll post some pictures soon.)
Another Stacy Nash pattern. I don't know how I measured, but as you can see I started the angel much too far down on my linen and had to make some adjustment at the bottom so I did not run out of fabric. Luckily I realized it before it was too late.

Beautiful stitching and punch needle. I can't wait to see your rug when you get it finished.
Julie ~
Thanks!
If I ever get finished...lol! At the rate I am going, it may never happen.
I love that tombstone angel cross stitch!
Good to hear that Eema is doing well.
I don't think I commented on your last post about Linny, but I'm glad to hear she is adjusting to her new life with you. Your kindness and patience will be just what she needs.
Don't beat yourself up for not hooking. We all go through these challenges. Tomorrow I'm starting a four week Drawing class!!! Every Tuesday from 9:30 'til 11:30. I do think it will help me with pattern design though! It's just nice to change gears every once in a while. You'll settle right back into hooking when it's time.
xo, Sheri
Me, too ~ I'm just like you ~ I want to do it all! I love that hit-and-miss of Cathy G ~ I want to do a pumpkin and on it goes!! If you get settled in, pass along any hints that will help!! I like that tombstone cross stitch, too! I like it all!
Hey Lauren,
You are certainly accomplishing a lot of things there! And with your new Linnie to care for too! Remember the long w word is coming quickly and we should all have time for more projects then ( won't we?) Love your punch needle and stitching. One day I hope to try a little of that to. I am always glad to hear the good word on Eema!
Hugs!

I have to agree with Cathy G. You may not be hooking but boy it sure looks like you've been busy!!!!
Girl, I've got the same problem....I want to hook, but seldom find myself hooking. Here's my thought....we're finishing all this other "stuff" so we can have an entire winter to hook everything we want"!
You might not be hooking, but your hands have not been idle... the last one about the worms made the hair on my arms stand up tho...
I LOVE THE TOMBSTONE WITH ANGEL. wHAT A CUTE PIECE. yOU SURE HAVE BEEN BUSY. i HAVE SO MANY IDEAS FOR HOOKED RUGS I COULD'NT LIVE THAT LONG. iT KEEPS THE MIND PERCULATING!
GLAD TO HEAR THAT EEMA IS HAPPY AND KISSES TO LINNIE.
Well you may not be hookin' but you sure have been busy making some beautiful pieces, I have been working on the same small project for 1 week now!!!
Price of having young kids, a husband and a dog, always have to stop to feed one of them. Don't they know you can survive for hours on just a piece of chocolate and determination!!!
Or is that just us crafters?
Oh well, love the finishes!!! Great job!
Hugs,
Kerri
p.s. So touched by your work with Linnie, will be thinking of you guys and hoping she gets better and better!
I'm with you Lauren--so many ideas, so little....motivation.
Heck, I've got a locker hook rabbit to finish that I started last spring.
Hi Lauren - LOVE LOVE your Stacy Nash pieces - especially the tombstone angel - I 've not stitched any of her things but would love to - The punch needle are great too! To answer your question (haha) Punch needle is something I have stayed away from purposely - I love the look but like you - I am not getting as much hooking done as I want so I refuse to start punching or quilting - both things that interest me but I just can't devote the time to any new ventures. How sweet you dedicated the one design to dear Eema - glad she is doing well. Mel
You may not be hooking, but you're still getting a lot of things done and they all look great. I love all of them. I'd like to try needlepunch sometimes. If I can't get the hooking out, needlepunching may be the next best thing! You'll get back to hooking soon, but you'll have all these great things to show what you worked on while you were away from it.
I agree with everyone else your not hooking but you are productive! Me I am chained to blog world. I can't seem to get out I find blog after blog I love. I need to get a hook in my hand soon.
