Losing Focus ~

I am having a real (hooking) mental block when it comes to pulling loops on Primitive Horse & Birds.  This is all I hooked . . . just a corner of the bird.

And here is what I am using to hook it.  A new paisley bought on the Facebook buy and sell site for hookers.

So instead, I figured I could hook another small mat for my guild's September hook in.  Pulled a piece of linen that was already cut.  Well, instead of hooking one little mat, drew out three, but as you can see, did a couple modifications, changing what I had originally drawn.  Spacing was too close between the hearts and came across the fat little bird while trying to organize patterns on screen, so opted for him instead.

I have several bird baths but this is my largest.  I don't see any feathered friends using the small ones, but they sure do enjoy this one!

And last but not least, something most of you can relate to.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

Oh that is so funny !!!!
I've never hooked with paisley , is it hard to work with , does it fray ? It looks pretty for your bird .

I have two different paisley wool colors purchased from the same gal on FB and haven't used any of it yet. Was going to use it in class on a rug but teacher changed her mind. It is a lovely color so I will eventually find something to used it in.
Nice hearts and great start on your bird.

I'm mad for that paisley!!! Gorgeous! And, dang, girl, you're making me want to book a ticket and sign up for your guild just for a chance to win one of your amazing pieces. How do you hook on small pieces of linen?? I'm too lazy to sew regular fabric to the linen so I can use my frame and end up using an embroidery hoop. Love that birdbath! I only ever had one "real" birdbath...it was smallish and wasn't tended too soon enough one fall and froze and now leaks so it is just a plant holder. My other two bird baths are make-do's... I've been looking for another decent one for years but we have such a small selection of places that sell them and they're cheesy or cheap...or I have no way to transport. That meme is hilariously true. Love it! ~Robin~

That paisley print is the bomb. I dont do Facebook so I will miss out am afraid on this. There have been days where we have filled our one birdbath three times a day it was that hot. I think we had every bird in the neighborhood coming over. LOL That meme is totally the truth. Loved itJanice

I always enjoy seeing your hooking. I have been the worst hooker in the world this year! Polly helps and steals my wool and eats my strips of wool.
I love seeing your garden.
Happy almost August.

I have wanted a bird bath for a few years but the cheaper ones here are just that and more flimsy than a $$store plastic bin. Coons have broken several pottery types no matter how they were secured. I may order a fiberglass cheapie on Amazon and get the solar fountain for it.

Funny thing.... I just mentioned the other day that if all cars were manual transmission people would HAVE to pay attention when driving and there might be less accidents.... How do you like the Rug Hooking buy and sell on Facebook... I've got a frame, cutter, wool and patterns I'd like to sell. But, don't have a facebook and wondering if it's worth it?

I'm catching up with blog posts today, I just love that paisley! I do wonder how easy it is to hook with, though. I have a nice ceramic bird bath set up in what I call my "cottage garden". The birds have finally started to use it! Yay! Love the meme, and it is so true! Jan in MA
