Askew is hooked, bound, labeled and in its new home. This is the highest traffic area in my home from outdoors, but am sure it will wear well. I am just so happy to have her done.
I just have a little more background to hook on Flowers & Berries, the little mat started in the class with Ali Strebel. I added this little quillie leaf (also known as standing wool) as shown on the pattern.
I thought is looked like a hanging pear 😁 so I eliminated it.
Not much progress has been made on Shady Spot. I am still not liking the bright blue but will hold off toning it down or changing the wool until more of the background is hooked.
And finally . . . last week DSO and I took a day road trip to Michigan for a Father's Day celebration at his son's. I needed something no brainerish to hook in the car. Easiest thing is to hook another handtorn pumpkin. I should have taken two because I may have gotten them both hooked, but one is better than none. I have drawn up some pumpkin patterns to try to sell when I vend, so having a sample is a plus.
I will be happy when Flowers & Berries is hooked and bound. I like having one or two projects in the works, but 4-5 is just too darn many.
I am not a fan of the days already getting shorter!!! Thankfully the progression is slow for a couple months.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

Oh, Lauren, Askew sure has found the perfect home. It looks stunning on that floor. I really love the simplicity of it and the colors are so pleasing to the eyes.
You always keep your fingers so busy. I'm ashamed that I haven't pulled a single hoop or loop on my rug since the hook-in. There never seem to be enough hours in the day when I'm not too tired to hook.
Like you, I'm aware that the days are already getting shorter and I dread it. June is just about gone already. It's been so hot and dry, this rain today is so appreciated but it's been cool and I have to admit that I had to light the woodstove for a bit of warm.
Take care, Lauren. Hugs.

Wow, all your new rugs are looking great. There's things about everyone one of them that I adore. Askew is a great use of worms. I love the alternative methods used in the Ali class rug. I do agree that the blue in the flowers is too bright, what about using the same blue as the horses?
I adore your Askew rug and it is perfect for that spot. The one started in Ali's class looks rather 'classy and sassy' too.
Shorter days? It's only been two days since we hit the longest day of the year for goodness sake. But it does seem to get darker faster on the downhill vs. long days on the climb to summer solstice.
There is something definitely wrong with me. I worked for years on Welcome Cats (albeit it was in hibernation during WWR) and now it has sat for more than a year waiting to be bound. And let's not even mention the Beast. I actually would love to hang him at the lake house now but think he needs to be framed given the weight and don't know which way to turn. Anyways, Askew is freaking AWESOME!! I'd never be able to put that gorgeous rug on the floor - let alone in a high traffic area. Eeek. Can't wait to see the finish on your Ali rug...and, of course, I'm in love with Shady Spot too. And, seriously? You hooked an entire pumpkin in the car? Like I said, something is definitely wrong with me. ~Robin~
Askew is WONDERFUL!!! as is all your work.
Not sure if I would be able to lay a rug in a high traffic area of my house. Askew is an awesome piece. Dont think I will ever hook something that big and I even have a standing tall frame. I hope it rains by you. We got more tonight just as Bob was going to grill. We ended up going out for a burger at a local restaurant on the lake near us. I always love your pumpkins! Janice
By August you can see the angle of the light has changed. At least you have been hooking I haven't picked up a hook in weeks.
I hope you had a good trip

Such a unique (and antique looking!) rug, that Askew. I'm somewhat new here...did you design it, too?
I Love Askew rug ...it is awesome and so is your project from Ali's class ....think you other rug will be another beauty ...the blue might look just fine with more of your background hooked ???
Your Pumpkins are so neat , can't believe you could hook while being in the car ...I would get car sick .
Have Fun Hooking !!!!
I was really enjoying this post and then you finished about the days getting shorter.
