Let the Madness Begin ~

You know me.  I will never learn that less is more . . . sigh.  I have begun to haul boxes down from the attic.  10+ trips down and countless more to go.

Thanksgiving was wonderful!!!  Time spent with family ~ and mine is very small ~ is important.  My Las Vegas son Bill was home for a few days.  Good for this mom's heart.  He is the guy in the Browns' shirt.  Younger son J and his son Jake are bringing up the rear.  Jake is officially taller than his dad.

When hooking in Millersburg, I had to leave for a few hours to attend the Seville Antiques Christmas open house.  I can't believe I came home with another Peaseware container.  I have others already put away.  It will be fun to see all I have when my house is back to "normal" in January.

And speaking of Millersburg, while there I pulled a few loops on Ole Jack but still not done (unlike Saundra).  I did hook Mr. Jingles and last evening added his shoe button eyes and those on his chest.  Another Santa rug was started, but not enough progress to show.

This is in my yard today.

The sidewalk in the front of my house was in dire need of leveling.  Because the problem was due to tree roots, they could not just be leveled.  I have been trying for two years to find someone to do it.  I had gotten a couple estimates that were just totally outrageous so was happy to find someone who though expensive, did not totally break the bank.  Suffice to say it is costing many yards of wool and hooking camps 😞

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

So the city isn't responsible for the sidewalk? Boy you should see some of the streets in Cape May when walking to town, you must keep looking down or you'll trip.

Too bad you had to deal with that tree at this time of year ....all the tree services around me are booked for months . So many of us have very tall oak & pine trees.
Love all your cute things you have hooked !

There is always something to pull money from the wallet, isn't there? I'm surprised that you have to pay for having the sidewalk leveled. The sidewalk should be the city's responsibility. I'm trying to figure out if it's the walkway instead of the sidewalk that needs leveling.

Like last year, I'm in no rush to decorate. I might put up some lights and the nativity to begin with and see how I feel about decorating later. The husband is totally indifferent when it comes to decorating.

Your snowman looks positively beautiful.
Stay warm and safe.
Hugs, Julia

In the town where our stores are, if they mark your sidewalk (which needs fixing) you have so much time, then they bring someone out and put the bill on your taxes. Hopefully the sidewalks will be fine for awhile there because there is a lot. We live in an area where there are no sidewalks, so no worries there. Your snowman is cute and hopefully you will be able to do more shows to get that extra cash for retreats and wool. Janice

Where the Sidewalk Ends, eh? (Am I dating myself??) Like those above, I'm a bit perplexed that you would have to repair/replace the walk....maintain (as in shovel, etc.), but replace it? If that is the case, I would put in something totally outrageous...just so everyone knew whose walk they were walking on LOL. I love Mr. Jingles to pieces. You hooked him last year, right?? And are only now putting on his buttons? For shame. And I absolutely covet your Peaseware. You are making me want to start another collection...but I have never seen any offered in these parts. Then again, we no longer have any antique places and I seem to have missed all shows in the past several years. I guess you could say I'm finally being good. Wow...can't believe how Jake has grown. It's been a while since you've posted a photo of him...I thought about that not too long ago and was going to ask...but forgot. (Surprised??? You shouldn't be.) ~Robin~

Well I love your recent purchase. and your sweet snowman. I can't seem to get it in gear the past few days. Not sure what is up. Each room in the house has something that is tore apart.
That is a good looking group right there! How wonderful you had them all together.
Jake oh my goodness he is all grown up.
I too can not figure out why you have to fix the sidewalk.
happy decorating

I don't know anything about Peacewear, but those are gorgeous! Now I have to dig in and learn. I love old and old wooden things are treasures. Old useful wooden thing - my heart is going pitter-pat. Glad your boys made it home.

I didn't know there were towns that took care of fixing the sidewalks. I'd suggest instead of putting in a straight sidewalk again, curve it out around the tree, if possible.

I'm still trying to get up enough gumption to put away the fall things, and get the next batch out.
