Around the Yard ~

A couple people have asked me to share pictures of my yard.  I wish I could take amazing flower pictures like Kim from My Field of Dreams, but I just can't capture the beauty as she does.

Daffodils (my favorite!) are coming to an end.  They were spectacular this year.  They have been blooming for at least a month and I had many more blooms than I have ever had.

Helleborus ~ Lenten Rose

Shade garden on the north side of the house.  Hostas and ferns will fill up much of the empty spaces.

Be still my (bleeding) heart ~

Spanish bluebells???

Solomon's Seal ~

The boots under the chair are an old pair of my son's workboots.  I used to plant them with hens & chicks, but the darn squirrels would not leave them alone.  Constantly dug them up and threw them around the yard.  I finally gave up a few years ago . . . sigh.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Be safe and stay healthy.
Pug hugs :)

The damn squirrels didn't bother my Hens and chicks until last year. And of course I gave up too. Squirrels are nothing more than furry tail rodents.

your gardens look wonderful. I have never had an issue with my hens and chicks.
You are way ahead of us our daffodils just started to bloom

Thanks for the beautiful pictures of your flowers. There's absolutely nothing wrong with your pictures. We have a lots of squirrels around here but they leave my Hens and Chickens alone. They're not planted in boots though. lol...

It's been a spectacular day today and I was on low energy but I managed to weed around my rhubarbs and added some compost. They were full of Creeping Charlies, one of the worst spreading weed around here. I may get a bit more work done tomorrow.
Hugs, Julia

It is all beautiful. Ugh, the squirrels--the ones at our house are very brave coming right up on the deck and throwing a party. We tried feeding the birds and the darn squirrels ate us out of house and home.

Awwww....thanks so much for sharing your beautiful yard with us! I've always loved Helleborus, but. Don't have any....Not sure why, but I think because I recall they love shade and for so very long all I had was full on sun. I have never heard of Solomon's Seal, but I really like it. Reminds me of lily of the valley....which I absolutely love...even had it in my wedding. I had to get rid of my plants though because they ruined our sidewalk and started coming up in the garage LOL, but was just thinking I might have to get some for the lake. Yes, you're way ahead of us here too....my daffies are just starting, and am just seeing the bleeding hearts popping up. Unfortunately, we're in for a cold spell....lows in the 20's, so what's up will be gone. :-( Mulch on ~ Robin~

Your descriptive storytelling and vivid imagery really brought your yard to life. It's amazing how much beauty and wonder can be found right outside our own homes.
