More Dyeing ~

And I will add ~
Rug hooking is not cancelled
Applique is not cancelled
Cross stitching is not cancelled
{{But of course all must be done solo.}}

I played in the dye pots again last week.  Fractur orange is from the this dye book by Cathy Meyer.

Turquoise spark is from this dye book.

I love the results.

Yesterday I decided to dye another pot of fractur black for an applique runner I want to stitch.  I don't normally use a sold wool, but had some Dorr wool that I though would dye up nicely.  It did.  However . . . I did not take in to account the shrinkage, so the piece is now not large enough and I did not want to reduce the size of the runner by several inches.

Today more wool is soaking.  I do hope it will work out for the applique runner.  Even though the wool has been previously washed, I still allowed for shrinkage :)

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Be safe and stay healthy.
Pug hugs :)

Both turned out lovely, but I really like the blue. I've been quilting ( with the help of my granddaughter), and making masks for family members. I have a bit of wool with me, but not a lot, so I haven't picked up a hook. Have fun!!

Hi Lauren,
Love your little list of things not cancelled!! I'm sure we could add even more, along with those important ones you already shared!!!!
LOVE your new dyed pieces and they will be perfect for your rugs!! How disappointing about the black wool!! Hopefully, you will find some more that will work!! You can always use black so that's good!!!
Hope you are staying safe and keeping well!!! We are, too!!
Heart Hugs~

Your wool looks beautiful. I love those colors.
Reading hasn't been canceled and I read a lot today. It's raining and the river is rising with threat of flooding. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Keep safe and busy.
Hugs, Julia

I bled some black wool to make is a bit mottled and then used what came out of the wool to over dye a couple of pieces I would not have used as it.

Wish I could see a 'before' photo as well as the beautiful after. AND I do plan to try the Fraktur Black and also another black recipe to use up that damn-ugly brown and tan wool like you did previously. Will get around to it eventually, lol.

I come over to see all the pug pictures, the first little black pug is so cute.
This would be a perfect time to adopt a dog however not allowed at this time to even go look.
I still don't do rug hooking just playing making greeting cards and jewelry altered art.I have been cleaning up my messy studio
Take care

I love your colors. I would love to be dyeing wool. We showed the house three times yesterday, so I can't get started on a project. Limbo is a hard place to live. I can't wait until my hooking comes back again.

Well, GT, I beg to differ....spring has apparently been canceled indeed here in Nod.... 12" of snow and record low temps.... Bah! But oh are those some yummy colors!!! And they look incredibly gorgeous together!! I have a hankering to hook (not particularly fond of the colors in my current stitching project and too much invested to change them out at this point)....and I am actually seriously considering tackling that whale of a project I mentioned LOL. I wonder how much wool Cathy has.... Stay well...and keep on keeping on.... Robin
