Tulips Fini ~

Happy Sunday, dear friends.  It is a beautiful day on Ohio's north coast.  I've gotten a few much needed yard tasks done, most importantly cleaning out my little pond.  Usually it is done in May, but the weather did not cooperate . . . plus it's just a nasty job cleaning out all the rotting leaves so I did procrastinate a bit.

Tulips, a pattern by Cathy Stephan of Red Barn Rugs, is FINALLY done.  Started last October in a class with Cathy, it was put aside and nary a loop was pulled until a few weeks ago.  It is now bound.  It just needs a final steaming and a rug label made :)  This is the best of my lousy pictures of the rug :(

I must have at least 30 patterns on linen and many more than that ready to transfer.  Plus two rugs that are kitted.  I normally don't buy kits, but one was bought second hand and I purchased another from Tricia Travis at rug camp in April.  Nothing is screaming . . . or even saying . . . hook me.  I need to decide on a project tout de suite.  I have not yet dyed the wool necessary to finish Antique Floral that was started at rug camp  so can't do much with that.  Decisions, decisions.

I've showed this clematis in years past.  Dug from my parents farm, it survived being run over by the lawnmower and eaten by the cow.  It must be at least 40 years old and is just such a prolific bloomer.

Thanks for all the fun comments on my last post.  I guess there are many wool obsessed hookers out there.  I am amongst good company.

Last chance to enter my give away.  Check it out here.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

The clematis is beautiful and is special since it came from your family farm. Love your finished piece and am truly surprised you have that many drawn patterns waiting. I've sometimes purged the ones I no longer have interest in. While I don't have that many waiting in the wings I might end up putting some on ebay myself.

Wow...that clematis is a stunner! I had a light and a dark planted together, and it finally took off so last year, I extended the trellis. Well, gee, this year, not so much. The dark must have froze out (or drowned), and when the light one finally emerged, it was sprayed by the lawn guy. Truly and really, I am ready to give up on plants this year. Your tulip rug is beautiful as well....I am so proud of you having it bound and all even. I got halfway through my hooping project and then picked up a cross stitch pattern. Tell ya....I think I have a serious case of AADHD. Happy new week ahead... ~Robin~

Beautiful rug! And beautiful clematis! My clematis are barely making it and have some flowers, but not nearly as full and lovely as yours. I do NOT have a green thumb and am usually happy to see some flowers blooming. Now I am put to shame, haha!!
Have a wonderful day!

Your clematis is beautiful. I had no idea that an old clump could be transplanted. I had read in a gardening book that if the roots got damaged they would rot. Apparently, your clematis is doing superbly well. I'm glad that you have finally got some sunshine.
That little tulip rug is beautiful. You always do such a good job. Have a great week.
Hugs, Julia

I had an old fashion rose from my Great Aunt's house who was born in 1902. I was not able to bring it to my house here, so it is lost forever now. I so wish I would have dug it up. Love the color of your clematis! Such a royal purple. Janice

Better late than never responding on this one. That little rug is so cute. I adore the colors and the border design. And the clematis is lovely...and what a neat history.
