Ohio Flags of Honor ~

Yesterday I hurried home from the primitive antique show, Back to Our Roots (more on that in another post) to hop on the motorcycle (finally!) to head an hour to the town of Willard.  They were hosting the Ohio Flags of Honor Traveling Memorial.  The Ohio Flags of Honor Traveling Memorial honors the men and women of Ohio who have given their lives in service to their country.  Specifically, those Fallen in the Wars in Afghanistan, Irag and the War on Terrorism since September 11, 2001.  Over 800 flags were set out and 301 of the flags have the name of a fallen hero on them.  You can read about the history hereMy son, a veteran, had seen the flags a number of years ago.  He brought his son Jake along to witness the event.

Please keep our Armed Forces’ service men and women in your thoughts and prayers. They defend our freedom both at home and abroad.
…And never forget our fallen heroes or their families.
~ God Bless America ~
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Wonderful tribute and don't think I'd have been able to keep back tears. GOD BLESS AMERICA and God Bless the men, women and Service Dogs who defend our county.

Beautiful flag displays, always love seeing them in our area too.
Love your flower beds, would love to have more wild flower patches around the yard, just makes me happy to see flowers and all the colors.

A very beautiful display of flags to remember the fallen Ohio soldiers who have fallen in the service of their country. What a great way to remember the men individually by putting their name on the flag poles. I hope this was impressive on Jake also. I'm so glad that you could go on the motorcycle with them.

I forget how many cool things there were to do and see in OH!!! What a spectacular display and so very moving!! My son is an Iraq Marine Veteran and I know he would be so touched to see that display!! So happy you could all go, especially on the bike!!! Thanks so much for sharing and May God continue to bless and protect our brave men and women who serve!!
Enjoy your week and looking forward to hearing about your antique show visit!!

Very moving. I am so glad veterans, fallen or not, are being recognized more. They serve so selflessly and are compensated so poorly.
