Too many irons in the fire ~

I'll start by saying I have not pulled out the Indian Peace Flag to pull some loops 😢

However, I have been busy!

I am in the process of binding Antique Hearts.

I have also been working on consignment items for a fall rug camp.  Here's a sampling.

For vending in November, I have made sunflowers on bedsprings . . .

. . . and a few on a forsythia branches.  OOPS.  Forgot to tie on some leaves.

These small hooked pieces will be attached to hide stretchers and a small cutting board.

Busy all the time but I need to make time for my Peace Flag.  My goal is to finish it before the end of 2026.  I rarely hook in December so I better get my rear in gear, don'tcha think?  And what about Saundra's little Halloween challenge?  ARGH!  Sure wish I didn't need to sleep, and it would help if I would stay home more often.  Next week I only have one thing on the schedule (so far) which is nothing short of a miracle.  I sure hope it stays that way.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

I really Don't Like ~

I hate, despise, really dislike the time change!  Is our government finally going to abolish it?  I haven't read anything about it in ages.  The early darkness is just depressing.  The only thing I wish is that we could gain an hour of sleep every week 😁 (but not need to change the clocks!).

Halloween is being boxed and hauled back to the attic.  (Have I ever mentioned that an attic is both a blessing and a curse?)  Turkeys will be brought down, but thankfully I don't have nearly as many turkeys as I do Jack-o-Lanterns.

I am living in more chaos than usual.  Halloween totes everywhere.  A pile in the living room that will be taken to the show next weekend.  Still a few items to price and of course trying to make a few things.  One just never knows what will sell.  I found a great old skinning board that I thought would be perfect for a primitive tree.  I like the added piece at the bottom, but I think that is actually the backside.

Hooking is done.

(Sorry, Saundra . . . no time to hook on the hook-along rug.)

I am looking for an antique cupboard of sorts to turn in to a bathroom vanity.  I only have a 36" space to work with which makes it difficult.  I went to a Christmas open house at one of the best antique malls in northern Ohio.  No luck there, but did find this slightly wonky 2 gallon crock for my stairs . . .

. . .  and these hearts that came from an antique welcome mat.

On Saturday I headed to one of the primitive antique shows featuring premier dealers.  (There was another one about another half hours' drive that I decided to skip.)  My house is antique filled but I do not consider it primitive.  You know the "grungy" primitive that is so popular now and crazy expensive.  No luck finding my "vanity" there either, but I did get a couple coverlet pieces and a tiny glass Santa ornament.

This afternoon we went and saw the Tamburitzens, the longest-running multicultural song and dance company in the United States.  Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, the company's members are full time students who receive scholarships for their activities.  Read more about them here

So many wonderful ethnic costumes.

Trick-or-Treat

A couple readers asked to see my Halloween decorating.  It is pretty much the same as every year.  The only thing I added to my collection this year was a skeleton bride and groom (Day of the Dead?).  I did find a couple plastic pieces from the 50's I was tempted to purchase but not for the prices being asked.  Maybe next year???

Hopefully you don't get any tricks ~ only treats.

Seriously!!!

Why does anyone in their right mind have 6+ tubs of Halloween decorations.  Not fall . . . Halloween.  Does that mean I am not in my right mind?  Highly possible 😁

On Labor Day after getting home from my brother's, I was in the kitchen with Harper and heard a rustling.  I looked out the kitchen window to see if my neighbor was making the noise.  Nope.  I opened the cupboard door under the sink, and there was a

in my recycle can desperately trying to jump out.  To say I screamed like a girl is an understatement!!!  Thankfully there were only a couple things in the bottom of the can so he wasn't able to climb out and I was able to carry the can outside and dump him out.  Tuesday I put "mouse food" in the garage.  I have had mice before and they just make me feel dirty and they are most unwelcome in my house.

Still no hooking to show.  Perhaps after the Halloween decorations are out I will find time to pull a few loops.  I miss being creative.

I am still getting a crazy number of hits on my blog.  Still haven't a clue what is going on.  My AI visitors?

Getting out of Dodge ~

DSO and I are heading out tomorrow for a little get-away to Branson, MO.  The weather sounds pleasant, low 70's (though every day the forecast changes), so I need to leave my winter clothes home.  Of course I have not yet started to pack.  I just hope I can remember where my warm weather clothes are!!!

We will take two days to drive there, since it is about a 12 hour trip before stops.  Thankfully DSO will do most if not all of the driving.  I will hook my way to Missouri.  I need something totally mindless, small and easy.  Plus I need a little Halloween hooked piece to gift an old classmate when I see her in June.  Scaredy Cat fits the bill.  I have hooked him several times ~ what's once more?  At only 8.5" x 11" I hope to get him done.  I am so grateful the designated driver does not mind wool dust 😁

Sweet little Ernestine . . . in the eight years since she has been adopted, she has never been boarded at a kennel.  The normal pug sitter is out of town, so there is no other choice.  Poor baby will sure miss sitting in daddy's lap and cuddling him in bed!

Just wanted to pop in with a quick post because most likely will not post until my return.  I still haven't figured out how to blog on my iPad.  Tech challenged, you know!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Quick Teapot Update ~

The teapot is hooked!!!  At long last.  As you can see, I've eliminated the base and lid, but kept the handle and spout as required.  I am not going to hook the background.  I will cut it out and mount it on either Halloween fabric or perhaps black and white ticking.  You will know more when I do 😁

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Mojo Problem ~

First of all I would like to say thank you so much for all the sweet comments on my last post of the video of my home.  But I am so ticked at blogger.  I got emails saying comments were left, but every single comment was from a NO REPLY BLOGGER.  WTH???  I have seen other bloggers having the same issues.  I know blogging is a dying art, but is someone at blogger trying to kill it?

I am having a serious mojo issue.  Maybe because I have been so busy for so many months, I am just lacking motivation.  Halloween is put away and turkeys are out.  I am off Friday and Saturday to Millersburg for the $20 Hookers.  I haven't been in a year.  I have several projects in progress, but haven't a clue what I will take to hook.

Some more of the rugs from the throw down.  I didn't get pictures of all the rugs, but here are a few more to share.

May God smile upon America today.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
