So the other night I was sitting in my hooking chair and had just set my frame next to me on the floor. I was on the iPad when I caught a movement out of the corner of my eye. I looked over to see a mouse jump off my rug frame and run under the couch. TOTALLY FREAKED ME OUT! It's not the first time I have had a mouse in the house . . . but still did not handle it well. DSO was at his place already in bed so I didn't want to call him. Put on my big girl panties. ARGH!!! I knew I had a bag of mouse traps in the basement. Thankfully there were instructions on the bag since I had never set a trap before. I put several out and headed to upstairs.
Not five minutes later I heard a snap and I'm sure you can figure out what I found. Took care of that (EEK) and headed back to bed. I really did not sleep well wondering if I had more "visitors". Come morning all was well. (At least for now.)

I hate mice too. Hate them more than snakes. When I had my boy Ben and we were in the living room, TV was on and Ben got up and walked to the other side of the room and stared at the wall. HUH? I muted the TV an then I could here chewing. Set my mouse trap in the attic above where Ben heard it in the wall and next morning, voila. Have set traps in my garage before too. HATE meece.
Mice don't freak me out, but snakes do. We always seem to have at least one mouse in our house come Autumn. Glad you were able to take care of it. Janice
Please don't make me relive The Great Mice Invasion of Nod ...nor get me started with the (more-than) impending invasion at the lake. (Let's just say I'm a pro with traps....and Rajah holds a record of 9 "meece" in one night here in Nod....)

Well done on dealing with the mouse yourself! Now to the not-so-good...keep some traps out for a while, especially in the kitchen cabinets and near the wool stash. If there's one thing mice love more that an easy meal, it's nice soft nesting materials. Mice rarely travel alone for long, especially when it comes to getting into houses it seems. Even if this one was alone, his/her buddies are probably wondering where he/she is and may soon follow the scent trail into the house.
Haha. I'm glad we aren't the only ones with mouse problems. Come fall, it gets a little crazy with those critters. We're on 2+acres and now surrounded by city. My girl friends live in houses on small lots and don't understand the 'meece' problem. Patty Mc
Years ago, I took pots out of the shed for planting. In the bottom of one was a nest with babies. Tiny helpless ones. Mom took off and I tried to leave the nest for her to return. I never got over those abandoned babies. But not in the house!
