I have been dragging my feet hooking this rug. Started at a Florida rug camp in January, I just am not happy with it and yesterday at guild Sue gave me that aha moment.
First, even at camp, I was not happy with this large deer, hooked the way the teacher suggested. When I pointed out to her they looked like "neck gills" she agreed so that was removed.
Here is what it currently looks like. So close to being done but I just was not happy. Sue pointed out it looked like he was wearing a saddle and to remove it. I hate reverse hooking with a passion but I have to agree with Sue. So next up will be changing that. Hopefully I can find the other wool used in the deer or something very close. I also need to define the ears and overlapping antlers better. The red wool for the eye is just a placeholder until I change the color.
But in the meantime, I need to hook four small mats to gift and for hook in door prizes within the next three weeks. Plus yard work and so many other things on my to-do list. If only I did not need to sleep . . . sigh. Oh, and I will be visiting my number bad boy in Las Vegas for five days. HELP!!!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren
