The Things You Find ~

I found this in a bag of yarn I had not looked in in MANY years.

What, you may ask, is it?  A very hard, dried pizza crust.  Some of you may remember my Ellie, a Jack Russell Terrier I "inherited" when my friend passed away.  Ellie was attacked while on a leash as we stepped out of my garage.  She did not survive.  I can't believe it's been over five years.  Ellie loved to "bury" treats and pizza crusts in bags and baskets of wool.  It has been a very long time since I found one of her buried treasures.  So bittersweet.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

What a sweet reminder of Ellie! A pizza crust. I can't believe its been five years! I don't take my dog out for walks around this neighborhood. Too many people and dogs have been attacked and hurt by roaming dogs lately.
I am so glad you had her. I am also glad you have a dog now.

Awwww....this made my eyes water... Bittersweet indeed. I bet Ellie had a good laugh looking down from the rainbow bridge. ~Robin~

I'll bet Ellie was happy you remembered her. Sad her life was taken so horribly but you gave her a good one before that attack.

How sad that all was but how funny you find one of her prizes now.

Awe, poor little Ellie. She has left you a sweet reminder of her time with you. Bittersweet indeed. She wants you to remember her the next time you're eating pizza.

Take care and have a great week.
Hugs, Julia

Aw so sad to hear. Did you give her the pizza crust and she just left them, or would she hide them for later? Tundra would gobble them up right away. Janice

Poor Ellie, such a sad story, but at least you had taken her in and loved her. The "pizza bone" hidden in the wool, bittersweet indeed.

I will never be able to imagine how terrible that attack was for you both. If I remember, a young man came to Ellie's aid and stopped it? We were at a business two years ago where the owner told us his shepherd killed cats, dogs, anything, and then ate the neighbor's dog. Instead of putting him down, he gave him to a disgusting individual and we never went back. Mark had to pull me out of there before I picked up a piece of metal off the counter and embedded it in nether regions.
