After my last post, several hookers gave their input as to putting rugs on the floor, especially in high traffic areas. Some do. Some don't. These are the rugs I have on the floor in the living room.
Magdalena runner ~ a no traffic area :)
At the base of the stairs. This is a high traffic area, but this is a rug purchased on eBay years ago, hooker unknown (a great reason to label your rugs and of course I am guilty of not doing that often).
What Nots ~ pattern by Woolley Fox. My TV is hiding in the bottom of the cupboard.
I think pattern is called Red Bird of Pennsylvania, by our dear Saundra of Woodland Junction. Hooked by Karin, a local hooker and friend. The colors are so much better in person! She sold it on eBay and I purchased it when the original buyer placed it up for auction. Karin's seller ID is Primitivespirits.
I also have a few mats on antique stools.
I purchased this MANY years ago on eBay when I first started hooking. Hooked by Jane Augenstein. I believe she was Liberty Homestead.
This pattern was from one of the primitive/stitchy type magazines. Of course I don't remember which one :)
Finally, another eBay purchase from years ago. Not labeled so hooker/designer unknown.
Grandson Jake and I made some memories this week. We went and saw Captain Underpants Thursday evening and yesterday we went to Seneca Caverns. I hadn't been there since my boys were his age.
Panning for gems.
In a couple hours DSO and I are heading to Michigan for the afternoon and tomorrow I hope to get to the Garden Fair at Quailcrest Farm. And I wonder why I'm not getting anything done :)
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

I should do a similar post, although in the past have commented that several of my rugs are on the floor. Plus, many of mine ARE in high traffic areas. Fun to see the rugs, thanks for the show.
Yes, I understand always busy but not always things done.
What a great idea to have a show of where your hooked rugs live. I'm sure you have many more rolled up in a container somewhere. I have quite a few and I never hook all the time like you and Saundra.
It would be nice seeing all the hooked rug in your portfolio. I only have 2 on the floor in my bedroom. The rest are rolled up for no one to see.
When you think of it, life is meant for living and enjoying and when you spend as much time hooking as you do, you should be able to enjoy everyone of your rugs everyday. Now there are some rugs like portraits that i would not put on the floor. I've been meaning to hang them but so far They are still rolled up.
My that Jake is growing into a very handsome young man.
Thanks for the rug show and have a safe trip.
I've been tending to weedy flowers beds today and I'm on a mini break.
Smiles & hugs

Loved seeing your rugs and where you display them, Lauren! Jake is really growing up! Seems like he was a little guy. Have a great time in MI! Keep coming north and hang a left at the Big Mack bridge and then keep going for over four hours to my house!! He he Lori
I saw something on FB about quilters leaving a group because they saw pets lying on them. Don't know if hookers feel as strongly about floor displays, but I think it's absolutely up to the owner of those pieces.
Wonderful rugs and i love how you have them displayed in the areas on the floor. Looks like a fun day with Jake, I went to a cavern once, with my brother, they are fun to explore.

So happy to see that I'm not the only one laying my rugs on the floor. Isn't that what they're for? I don't want to roll them all up for no one to see and there's only so much wall space. Looks like you had fun with your grandson. Those are memories to keep forever.
I love your rugs that are on the floor. So very pretty. What a nice time with Jake. He is growing up so fast.
I hope you have a lovely time in Michigan. Its been a long time since I have been there and I loved it. Have a great week.
I have rugs on the floor and in high traffic areas. Like in front of the kitchen sink. When I die my daughter will take a couple of my rugs and sell or give the rest away so use them!
Jake is growing so fast!

I put my rugs on the floor...on the wall...rolled in baskets...wherever. I believe in using rugs! Jake has grown! Glad that you enjoyed your day with him...better you than I in that cavern!

What a treat to get to see so many of your beautiful rugs!! Gorgeous!
The diversity in choices—some opting for rugs and others not—is a testament to the individual preferences and considerations in different living spaces. Floor displays
