Monday Musings ~

I have to start the post off with something that will make you smile.  A dear friend sent me this picture of her grandpug Oliver.  It says it all.  Congrats to a dear, dear friend.

I haven't had a chance to bind any more on my Maple Sugar Hearts rug.  I was sure I'd have it done by now.  I hope to go hooking tomorrow and can work on it then.  I've been busy making scissor minders.  Not something I particularly enjoy doing, but I sold all the others I made at a previous show.  Probably this time, none will sell.  One just never knows what will.

Did you know that you can have your esophagus stretched?  I did not but according to the gastroenterologist, it is a common procedure.  I have been having some minor swallowing issues for a few years and had it done this morning.  I am amazed at how quickly I was sedated and also how quickly I recovered.  The only side effect I have is a sore throat which is to be expected.  I thought this was a "growing old" thing, but the doctor says it is not.  I am so happy it is over.  I am such a worrier.

I really need to get something ready to put on the frame, plus next week during rug week at Sauder Village I am taking a color planning class and don't have anything that needs color planning at the moment.  I'd best better figure something out.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

Had no clue you could have your esophagus stretched. Learn something new every day.

Your little scissors keepers are so cute. I'm sure they will sell like hotcakes...
My daughter has that procedure done as she was having difficulty swallowing pills and things would get caught in her throat. My son also has this problem but so far, the new doctor hasn't suggested having this procedure done.

We just had a furious downpour with thunder and the power blinked off but came back on.

Enjoy your next hooking adventure.
Hugs, Julia

Wonderful little scissors minders...I have a very old one from a friend and love it! It is very common to have your esophagus stretched if you have Esophageal Cancer...my sister's MIL had it done many times before she passed...you can also have a stent put in to keep your esophagus open (doesn't seem to work well but desperate times...)...also, they can create a new esophagus by bringing your stomach up through your diaphragm...I know...probably too much information...I'm sure you'll find just the right rug for color planning...

Glad to hear your procedure went well and relatively painless. What days are you going to be at Sauder? I am just going for the day on Wednesday.

That is so cute, love the shirt. I think the scissors minders are a nice, small item for a show, people always want to buy something, so low cost items are always a hit.

The shirt made me laugh Lauren. One never knows what to make for shows, but your scissor minders are nice! Glad you are alright with your throat and all..and even minor surgery is still surgery. Have fun at Sauder! Janice

Hi Lauren ... Hoping this comment makes it. Love the scissor minders...so cute. Thanks for your comment as I was unable to reply??? I think Google is mad at me...who knows? Still have not sold our home. Guess it is too big for those wanting to scale down. We have Sandy and need space for the 3 of us PLUS or sweet Rusty. Have fun and great sales at Sauder, there is nothing like that here in the desert.
Take Joy and Create, Warm regards, Barb

Adorable shirt.

I've needed that procedure for years, have to chew a thousand times and can't get pills down. But my claustrophobia has me paranoid about tubes in my throat even though I wouldn't know it!

I hope you have a successful day and I love those scissors minders. You are so creative. I am so glad you are feeling better with that procedure. I have to get back to hooking. I made it to the last page of His Eye. Have a lovely time Lauren.
