Let the Decorating Begin ~

'Tis the season whether we like it or not :)  Normally I start my Christmas decorating after my company leaves after Thanksgiving, but this year my son was here until Wednesday {miss him already}, so very little decorating got done.  Almost no hooking got done either.  I really need to get busy.

As I've said, no simplifying is happening at my house.  I already have 3 feather trees decorated and 5 other trees with lights and ornaments, ranging in size from about 2' to 4 1/2'.

Here is a little Santa from DF Wink, given to me in 1990.  I am so happy she dated it.

Santas enjoying the morning sunshine in the downstairs bath.

Small feather tree.  Sure wish it wasn't so washed out.

Papier mache Santa purchased last year.  A little beat up but okay by me.

More papier mache and "egg crate" Santas with a little vintage bottle brush tree in the dining room cupboard.

Vintage celluloid Santas and reindeer also in the dining room cupboard.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  I MUST get back to decorating.

Pug hugs :)
Lauren

Looks like you are off to a good start. Love all of the Santas. I even have the same paper mache one you do. Will show in a post before Christmas. Still have to finish my decorating this weekend. Janice

You got ahead of me with your decorating...I was going to start today but had to babysit my darling little great grandson this afternoon and then had to go back to work. I think I had a greater time babysitting though. My company is arriving tomorrow... Oh well, maybe i'll have help with the decorating.

I love what you got so far. It looks very lovely. So many nice old Santas.
Hugs, Julia

Wonderful pieces for Christmas. I enjoyed decorating this week, been too long since we had a tree and decorations. One of the antique barns we go to, has tons of old santas, you would love that store.

So much fun!! Please keep sharing. I swear every year when you are decorating I have never seen any of these before. All of them are so amazing to me. I love them all. How nice your boy stayed until Wednesday. I wouldn't have done a single thing either. Happy Hooking and decorating Lauren!

Hi, Lauren, you have given me some incentive to get busy! I've still been trying to finish up yard work and planting bulbs before the big chill arrives next week. Your collections are lovely. I did get my new pre-lit tree up today, so some progress is being made. At the Miami Valley Rug Hook-in a couple of weeks ago, Ali Strebel mentioned she might have Lori Brechlin next year. Just though you might be interested:)

For us Christmas is not over until Jesus is baptized which is the 8th of January. That's my excuse and it gives me more time to enjoy all the decorations and finally put them away. Always a bit sad and not one of my favorite chores.
Sound like your son's visit was most enjoyable. I always have such an empty feeling when they leave.
Thanks for sharing all the Christmas decorations you have accumulated. Truly all treasures.
After months and months of looking, I finally bought a floor model rug hooking frame from 'Wolf River Farm'. I believe I will be pleased as it offers most of what I wanted...Hands totally free. Now I must start with some small sized rugs...after Christmas. Have been looking for ideas for now.
Hope the upcoming week offers much enjoyment & Peace for all...

Lauren, so pretty! I love the vintage ornaments. I was feeling pretty good about "thinking" about getting my two trees up. LOL Of course one is only about 18 inches, so I guess I really shouldn't count it. LOL I found a second 18 inch tree at a thrift store last month, but I think I will save it for next year and get moving on some hand stitched ornaments. Though, if I could find some vintage glass ornaments....LOL See what you've done. I'm starting to think. LOL
