Yesterday, partner in crime Laura and I headed to a VERY upscale antique show about an hour and a half from home. I had not attended this show in 20+ years. It is a true antique show, full of wonderful early pieces with the prices that go along with such items. I did not anticipate bringing anything home. If money was no object, I would have needed to rent a U-Haul 😁 But since that is not the case, all my purchases fit in a paper handled bag.
The items that came home with me were affordable because they are not considered "primitive" items by today's standards. I would have loved to bring home a crock or two (or three or four) and maybe a like number of antique samplers. Nope.
I started collecting featheredge 40+ years ago. It is my largest collection by far and I have not added any pieces in many years. In all my years of collecting, I had never seen this variant. It is marked Adams. A small chip on the back is not noticeable from the front.
Another collection of mine is treen. Treen refers to small, functional, handmade wooden household items. I have collected small treen items for years but rarely purchase any because the little cupboards I use to display them are full. With that being said, I could not resist the price of this sweet piece. I also have a small collection of little Staffordshire dogs and once again the price was right.
Several dealers had the most wonderful antique Santas that I will never be able to afford, but did add to my Christmas collections with these little Santas. The larger one is made of chenille and the smaller ones, just over an inch tall, were marked celluloid, but not sure that they are.
And how could I not come home with this vintage stuffed pug? Because of his stains, he was what I considered a great bargain!
I am not a purist so a few stains don't bother me. Many of my antiques have major flaws, but they work for me so that is all that matters.
We had horrific winds on Friday! I lost power for over 24 hours. Thankfully it was restored yesterday but I believe some are still without. The winds have once again returned. Wind scares me but not much I can do about it.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

I seem to remember that you had a pug pillow on your stairs. Nice that you have another pug pillow. I looked online for the price of those tiny cellulose Santa ornaments and they were very pricy.
I can only imagine the prices at those antique places...
Hugs,
Julia
Nice finds. We are going to get bad weather tonight into tomorrow not sure about wind. It is hard to be without power though.

Great treasures you found - even if they all fit in a a paper handled bag. My favorite, though, is that plate. I love, love, love featheredge... Funny, but there is a growing community of collectors who actually prefer stained, chipped, and crazed pieces of china/ironstone/etc. to the more pristine pieces. Being a primitive lover, I definitely see the charm.... I'll trade you your 25 mph winds for our 50 mph ones?? (And you know how I despise wind. After last week with the non-stop noise of those machines and now the wind, I feel like my head is going to explode.)
You had a fantastic day I'm guessing, even tho you didn't find another crock.
You scored some wonderful pieces Lauren !!! I Love your pretty plate any those tiny Santas !
It is raining off and on here and windy just about everyday . Our snowbanks are getting smaller though !!!
Happy St Patty's Day !!!
UGH on losing power. 3 hours North of us got 35 inches of snow in the blizzard. Believe it or not, I just found that same Chenille Santa in one of my mom's many boxes. I took it home. I think you scored good. What show was this if I may ask? Janice
Nice! Might have been a little bag but big enough for goodies.
