Head on over to Sue's blog to see all the fun rugs from today's Hook & Thread Society get together. So much talent in just a few hookers.
I finally finished my Classic Santa, a pattern by Donna Hrkman color planned in her class last July. I am happy to say I finished the hooking in 2025 ~ just barely.
I had the hardest time deciding what color to use on the top left light section. The wool that was chosen when I took it to the hooking shop to ask for help just seemed too bright.
I wasn't sure what wool to change it to, but thought I would take the easiest route first and coffee stain it. I made a small amount of instant coffee and painted it on. Much better.
I needed a narrow rug to hang next to an antique cupboard in the dining room. I had hooked this in 2018 and given it to a friend.
Even though it's almost 9pm, back to un-decorating!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

Your Santa is wonderful. Love the hearts too.

That is a beautiful rug and I like how you toned down the white, it gives the perfect balance and contrast. I have a heart rug that Kelly made me, a little wider but perfect for my cabinet.
With my mom here, I had no energy to un-decorate. Plus I think she enjoyed seeing the Christmas decor up. Took her back to my sisters last night. Have to go back to work today, so I plan on taking most of my Christmas down this weekend ...and transition to my Winter decor. Your Santa is just prim perfect! I agree with you. Much better with the coffee stained part. The hearts will be sweet to when finished. Janice
Couldn't get enough of heart hooking eh? You will definitely be properly heart decorated for February. Congrats on getting Santa hooked in 2025, one less UFO for you to worry about going forward. And he's a handsome old man for sure.
lovely loops! and perfect choice to tone down the bright with a bit of coffee :) my trees are still up, sans ornaments ~ I like the twinkle lights until the end of Jan. :)
Your Santa looks great ! Toning down the light colors makes a big difference . Santa's face looks perfect !
Oh I Love that heart design ...I have that book it is in & should hook that now too !!!
I finally packed up all my Cmas things , all the Snowmen are out with some greenery & clear lights .
Santa turned out amazing!!! I do like the tone-down but I am seeing differences in color in the two photos all over... Did you stain all of the rug or just that upper left? I love that heart rug....I have that Barb Carroll book too and it caught my eye immediately. Decided to do another (larger) rug instead and then hid the book in retaliation LOL. I did "tuck away" my tucks today (in your honor) only to discover another whole container of them that I never put out. How could I possibly have not noticed they were missing??? Eek.
Its always so nice to see what you have been working on. I enjoy seeing how you hook!
