Another Monday ~

These Mondays are coming along much too often!!!  Whodda thunk time could pass this quickly?

As I've said many times, I am my own worst enemy.  I am always meeting myself coming and going.  I am a list maker.  Every day I have at least one list of things to do and those lists have sticky note lists on them.  I am vending at one more show this year.  There was an opening in a primitive/antique show and I thought it was a great idea to get rid of more stuff.  NOT!!!  When I was looking at what I had left over it didn't seem like I had enough to fill a booth.  So I have been searching cupboards and the attic.  And yes.  I am finding lots more stuff.  Also trying to make a few things to sell.  I have been to the park several times gathering walnuts for some garlands and also making these wool snippet garlands.  Totally mindless but more time consuming than you would imagine.  Why can't I get the color right?  Neither of these pics is good and I finally gave up 😡

You have probably seen a bit of my hook-along rug progress on Saundra's blog.  Here's where I am.  Soon it will just be the hit and miss border.  I am not wild about what is hooked so far, but I will learn to like it!  I am not changing it!!!  I am thinking the entire rug may get a walnut bath when done.

Not much else going on.  My fall yard cleanup is almost done . . . but still need to bring in some yard junk.  Lots of piddly miscellaneous things needing to be done before winter 😢.  Neither my yard boy nor my cleaning person ever show up, so I guess it's all on me . . . sigh.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

Wow... I can't imagine having to look for stuff to get rid of. You took your purging seriously. The wool garlands are sweet but I wouldn't want to have to cut all that. Great progress on your rug but, yes, the colors are a bit "brighter/lighter" than what you usually hook with.

Love your rug. Maybe a bath would be good for it. Good luck vending again. I have been purging a few things myself. Feels good to let go of a few things. Let someone else enjoy them. Janice

Cannot imagine how boring doing those wool garlands must have been.
You saved the most tedious part of the rug for last ~ the hit and miss border.
Interesting color you achieved with the recipe I've used for dyeing. Not sure if it is the monitor, camera, or what. But your background looks rather peachy, a color I've gotten when doing onion skin dyeing. Of course it could also be your water, as I've had teachers tell me water makes a difference~ well water vs. city water and water from drought vs. rainy season.

Oh I have been threading my snippets into 3 foot long garlands too ! I made one with all whites & cream colors , I really that one . Your snippets look much neater than mine though , mine are all wonky ! I hope you have good luck selling your too !
I think your challenge rug probably looks better in person , but when you start the border that should look great ! I might actually attempt another one after the holidays. (Saying after the Holidays already !!! Yikes !!!)

I got my rug drawn out this weekend. I am still trying to think about what colors I am going to use. You are so busy. I feel like a slacker... Good for you getting rid of things. I really enjoy seeing your rug.
