A Not Fully Finished Finish ~

I guess it's time to get out the Ott with magnifier.  Stitching this little piece on 28 count linen has given me fits.  (How on earth do people stitch on 46 count?)  I did okay with the dark color threads, but the threads that were close in value to the linen . . . argh!!!  Let's just say it did not go well 😝.  But the stitching is done and it will join all the other little cross stitch pieces that are stitched and not fully finished.

I wish I had more to share but this is sadly it.  Still haven't gotten the hook out.  I thought between Christmas and New Year's I would finally have time to kick back and enjoy the peace and quiet of the season, but I have been just as busy as before Christmas.  Of course, all self inflicted.  I only have myself to blame!  I normally start un-decorating on the 2nd, but this year I may enjoy my home all decorated a few days longer.  Everything is lit up with little white lights and when they are put away it is just so dreary.  Not a whole lot of sunshine in northern Ohio in January.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

Your lil' Santa is darling... ahhh, come on - sit down at the old sewing machine and make him into a little tuck...or slap him on an old piece of wood or something. A lot quicker than binding rug...just saying. (I know, I know...who a I to talk about finishing anything.). I have always left my Christmas up through mid-January. I, too, like the lights and the coziness of old decorations that I only see once a year. Besides...I hate putting the crap away. Contrary to what you say, putting away is a lot worse than the taking out. Hope you're having fun with all your busyness. ~Robin~

I can see why you want to enjoy your house for a bit longer. it's gorgeous. I didn't put much out, so it's mostly put away. I left out some white lights to help brighten these dreary Ohio winter days. I haven't done counted cross stitch for years. I just can't see well enough anymore.

Santa is cute but I sure wouldn't punish myself with the tiny stitches when I could find a big honk'n hook and some wool to hook a rug,

Love you pretty Santa ! Friends of mine got these great magnifying head sets to wear while cross stitching ....they got them on Amazon & were very reasonable ...will let you know the name ...they all Love them !!!
We won't celebrate Cmas until next weekend . I Love keeping things out longer . It is very gloomy here for the next very few days , so looks pretty and makes me smile .

Your Santa is wonderful! I use my Ott light every time I stitch. I dont use a magnifier though and I cannot see past 36 count. I heard there is 56 count out there now. YIKES. My Christmas will still stick around until next weekend. Janice

Lauren, what a shock to the system to remove the decorations! Take your time, space it out, don't want you suffering from withdrawal. My friend's mother kept her favorite displays in an extra bedroom, changed to the Christmas room. She got to enjoy them year round, even bought a red chair for the room.
