Co-Existing ~

First of all, thank you so much for all the comments and emails regarding my son J and his cancer diagnosis.  If I haven't responded to you personally, it is because everyone is coming thru as a no-reply blogger and I don't have your email address.  (I sure wish blogger would fix this issue!!!)  His first round of chemo is behind him and though he doesn't feel great, he doesn't feel that bad . . . but they have told him each subsequent round gets worse.

I think there is only one time I have started my Christmas decorating before Thanksgiving, and this is the second time.  The 28th is the latest that Thanksgiving can fall and it just adds too much pressure if I don't get a little done beforehand.  Granted, I probably won't get much done, but something is better than nothing.

I refuse to put my turkeys away so have to decorate around them 😁

I gathered black walnuts from the park (the squirrels were kind enough to remove the husks) and made garlands.

Papier mache turkeys

Candles

Here is the decorating that has been accomplished so far 😂

Topped with this sweet angel that Saundra gifted me a number of years ago.

Nary a loop has been pulled in a long time.  I have been working on these applique snowmen on antiques coverlets but that is about it.  They might be Christmas gifts . . . might not.

Son Bill who lives in Las Vegas will be home next week.  I still say home but it has been years since this has been his home . . . sigh.  He loves LV, is happy there, so this mama bear is happy.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

Hope your son will beat this cancer .....they have made so many improvements with chemo and radiation , we have two very close friends battling cancer , so far they are doing very well and their tumors have shrunk . Prayers for your son .

I don't have the wonderful turkeys you do so what thanksgiving I had are gone.
I love your tree I have 3 trees up and decorated I have one small one to go and I am done!
I think of your son so often. He is young and strong and this is not a lot of fun, surely he will come out the other side happy and healthy,
Hugs

Your hooked acorns and black walnut garland look great, as do your turkey collection. Snowmen applique look great too.
Guess you'll be making some pumpkin rolls, eh? Double check the ingredients on that recipe before you put in the oven, lol.
Am sending a separate email regarding son J.

Glad J is tolerating the chemo...guess, sometimes that's all we can say. Hoping it doesn't get too much worse for him. He - and you - continue to be in my prayers and thoughts. I LOVE all your turkeys...but if I ever came to visit, you'd be shy some of your papier mache ones after I left. I'm granting grace to those decorating for Christmas before Thanksgiving this year given that Thanksgiving is so very late. But next year I will be back on the warpath. ;-) That tree topper is amazing! What a wonderful gift. I really am wishing I could have my tree up this year but it just isn't happening. When I got my chair and a half for Rajah and me, the old chair was moved and now sits in the only place the tree can go. There is no way I can move that chair...and no place to move it to even if I paid someone to move it for me....and then there's the taking down. Never thought I'd be one of "those people" with no tree. :-( ~et~ (PS...your snowfella on the left is missing his nose.... LMBO...)
