OH! It's been a crazy few days. On Christmas Day, a friend's daughter called me from California concerned about her mom. She said her mom needed to get to the hospital but was worried about her dog Ellie. (I've posted a couple pics of Miss Ellie in the past.) Unfortunately when I got to my friend's house, it was evident she needed medical care. To make a long story short, she is in the hospital and they are not sure what is going on with her besides pneumonia. The hospital anticipates she will be there until at least next week. Ellie is a little 7# dynamo Jack Russell. She and Annie DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT get along. If Annie is not in Ellie's face, Ellie is attacking her and she doesn't care how much bigger Annie is! Not having a fenced yard and having to walk them separately is another issue. At least at night, Ellie sleeps on one side of me by my head and Annie is curled up on the other. I feel like the lunchmeat in a dog sandwich.
To be honest, I am thankful our white Christmas waited until the 26th. I work in the city street department and had the weather come in on Christmas Day, no one would have gotten to spend the day with their families. Wednesday I worked until 7pm and had to be back the next day at 3am. No, I don't plow . . . I am in the office listening to complaints because their street has not yet been done or the snow plow driver filled their driveway with snow. They don't want to believe that the driver doesn't do it on purpose. The storm was only about half as bad a predicted so for that I am thankful.
I am also thankful that today is Friday. I need to catch up on some sleep. I also need to catch up on my blog reading. With all the craziness of the last few days, I want to find a few minutes to pick up my hook instead of breaking up dog fights or having someone yell at me about the snow :)
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

Merry Christmas Lauren. I do hope your friend's health quickly improves. You are a true friend to take on another dog, I can see you have your hands full. Catch up on your sleep and stay well! Happy New Year to you, Greetings from Maine, Julie.
Oh my,I will be praying for all!I know how rough it is taking care of pups that don't get along. So very kind of you to care for it.Big hugs,Jen
Well that has to be nerve wracking. Can't you give them a pill? Like us two-leggers do!! Hope you have some peace and rest this weekend. And no s***!!!
Lauren, you are such a good person! Be careful breaking up those dog fights.
Oh, my. What a good friend you are. The saga of Ellie and Annie is not an easy one. I do hope your friend recovers quickly and that Ellie can return home. Hang in there.
Well, no WONDER you're not fond of the white stuff....I knew you worked for the city, but didn't realize which dept. Lord have mercy on you..... :o So sorry 'bout your friend - hope she recovers quickly....and yikes about the doggy mess. I'm not a Jack Russel fan. Sorry - love animals, but, my step MIL had one from HE** and I never got over it....and she thought he was the "perfect" dog. OIY. Anyways....saying some prayers for you GF....hope that box of wine is cracked and pouring.....Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
Sorry your friend is ill.I'm sure even though it is a lot of effort on your part your friend is resting better knowing her dog is with someone who is taking good care of her.Warm Blessings!~Amy
What a good friend you are! Hope your friend makes a speedy recovery and Ellie is back home soon. That's got to be so stressful...yikes! Hope you get some hooking in this weekend...I've been trying, without success, for a month to pull some loops.
Happy New Year!
Robyn
Oh my goodness really they get mad at you for the plow drivers?? You have a full plate with those dogs. I hope you have time to hook and relax.

You are so sweet to take in your friends dog. Especially this time of year, plus the obvious personality conflicts. (Poor Annie) Your snow plowing stories make me laugh because we could spend days sharing those types of tales. Last year during a storm, a man chased our plow down the street and tried to yank the driver out. Our driver had to call the police to get this guy off the side of the plow!
Hope you can get someone to foster Ellie until her mom gets out of the hospital because it is tough having two dogs who cannot get along. Your comment of being the meat in a dog sandwich was sorta funny, sorry but I did chuckle at the description.
Enjoy your weekend and get familiar with the hook again.

Hi Lauren, sorry to hear about your friend, sending a prayer for her......hope yopu get some rest this weekend......and the dogs somehow get along, yikes!!!! Hugs Francine.
I hope today is a nice restful day for you. I hope your friend gets okay too. Oh do I know about dog fights like that. So hard to keep them separated. I am so sorry about you being yelled at too. I hope your weekend is totally stress free and you just get to hook. Here is a hug from me to you O
You are a good person to be helping out another person in need.
HAPPY NEW YEAR.. I am in Akron, OH and we are getting our next round of snow now. Hopefully you aren't working.
Hi Lauren,
So sorry you have had your plate so full. Hope you get caught up on your rest. Also hope the dogs get along better. You are such a special person.....take care.
Sheila
Hi Lauren, I'm sorry that you are being dumped on about the snow plow and yes you're an angel for looking after another dog with a dislike for Annie.
I wonder if a muzzle would keep Ellie from fighting. I hope that you survive this week and that your friend's mom gets better fast too.
Sending some relaxing thoughts your way.
Hugs

hope you get some sleep. happy new year!!! denise
You are a good friend Lauren. I will miss you in the afterlife as I am afraid we are heading in different directions!
Hi Lauren...I hope your friend will be okay and that she is out of the hospital sooner than expected.
I don't think I have ever known where you worked...or maybe I did and forgot.
Glad you all didn't get the predicted amount of snow - it sounded dangerous.
How long do you had the other dog??? I'm sure this must be very difficult.
Blessings
HAPPY NEW YEAR
Karen
