It's That Time of the Month Again ~ Already

I'm not sure what happened to the month of May, but here it is June 1st already.  I'd like to say I didn't get much done on my goal list because all my yard work is done, but that is not the case.  I think we had record breaking rainfall for the month of May, so it was hard to get much done.
My major accomplishment for the month was finishing my proddy sheep rug ~ well actually I re-did the eye and stained the ears today :)  I guess it really does not count for the month of May.  I coffee stained the ears.  I thought I liked the way it came out ~ that is until I saw it under the Ott light and now in the photo.  It looks too "brown", doesn't it?  Should I pull one of the wools from the proddy part or go with black?  I'm thinking black would get a little lost.  Ear suggestions would be appreciated!  I tried hooking a blue eye . . . didn't look good to me so I went with the gold.  Okay?

Much more subtle in person :)

I am going to suspend making any additional goals for the month of June.  There is just too much yard work to do, a mini vacation to take and at the moment I am feeling overwhelmed.
My leftover goals include:
  • binding my horse mat
  • making the wool hookin' tools case
  • making the birthday present that should have been done by today . . . lol!
If I get these done in June, that will be accomplishment enough.  Am I settling?  Maybe.  Does it bother me?  NO!
* * *
I am still having problems leaving comments on certain blogs.  I haven't found the time to try any additional fixes, so if you haven't heard from me in a while, sorry :(
* * *
The good news is the A/C is fixed.  I don't remember them telling me I had to do anything special since it was installed in the winter, but maybe they did.  I have a very bad case of CRS.
* * *
The bad news is I never did hear back from the vet today about Mo's fecal or heartworm test. Can you say incompetence?
* * *
Thank you so much for stopping by!  Please come again soon.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

The sheep rug is just right as it is! I really like the border.
I so admire you for setting goals for the month and actually accomplishing them! Wish I had that kind of focus.

Hi, I know nothing about rug hooking, but I like the ear! The only thing that occurred to me looking at your picture was that the little black ear and face seem to get lost in the dark colors of the background. It may only be the way my computer looks. I used to do a little painting, and sometimes needed a high light along the edges of things to bring them out. I really like your blog. Peace.

The ear looks fine to me - was it dry when you took the picture? When you coffee stain it often drys lighter.

Lauren,
I like the gold eye! It's such an adorable rug! I didn't catch the size of it but I'm sure you mentioned that somewhere earlier!
I'm taking the rest of the summer off for accomplishing goals. Wonder if I'll get anything accomplished at all! LOL
Enjoy the yard work...... any photos?

Ok....I'm gonna rock the comment boat....While I LOVE this rug of yours, and YES it is wonderful as is, and eye looks great. However, IF IT WERE ME (and, remember, it's not!), I'd probably switch out the ears to make them the same as the body color....I would only do that 'cuz it isn't a bunch of work....(Then, if I didn't like that either, I'd switch it back...) ;O) Either way, it's great - you little perfectionist you....Get on the phone to that vet's office and raise a little you-know-what! I think that as the weather continues to get nicer, most people will be outside doing outside things... save the indoor stuff for a rainy day! :-)

Hi Lauren,
Well I think sometimes there isn't even a month...it's one long week! lol
At least that's what it feels like...time just flies by so fast that the month is gone before you know it.

Your sheep is adorable...now I'm thinking why not use the same gold for the ear as they eye...not as bold maybe???
But I sure do love it!

Lauren I am in love with that rug. lol Your work is just beautiful. I don't know how you get it all done like you do.
Here lately I can't even keep up with blogging.
Rain is something we know little about here in my part of Texas we are in a bad drought. No rain for months is serious.
Have a great weekend

Blogger is so annoying! I am a patient person but it's hard having to do all the extra steps to leave comments. Your sheep looks great! Every season you feel like doing different things. I am out in the yard alot more. Hugs Cheri

The sheep looks great. I love your lists. I don't have the committment to make (and keep) a monthly list. My goal for June is to spend lots of time out on the deck reading in the sun. (Cuz June has to have more sun than May did)

The rug is just right the way it is...in my opinion! I just love the whole look of it! I will someday get goals that don't involve cardboard boxes...until then...
Have a great day,

Lauren, your proddy sheep rug looks perfect to me. I wouldn't change a thing. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you are not satisfied with it the way it is, just put a little patch of color where the ear is to see if it is better or not and take the necessary steps to get satisfaction.

About leaving comments on some blogs, on crafty blogger had a solution. She Goggle the name of the blog she want to leave a comment on and then click on the blog's name and voila. She can read the blog and leave a comment. It might work for you. JB
