Blooms~

Yesterday I spent a few hours working in the gardens.
It was so hot and humid I thought I was going to melt :)
Today is cooler but the humidity
is still very high.
If it dries up, I will hopefully get some more work done.
It's a never ending job, isn't it?
I thought I'd share a few blooms from the gardens.
I wish I was a better photographer to capture the true beauty.
Perhaps in my next lifetime.....sigh.

Thank you so much for stopping by.
Please come again soon.

I hope my frogs can read ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ because I've gotten them a frog hut!

I've read that if I blend up some yogurt and moss and put it on the hut, it will start to grow moss of its own. I was also told that yogurt alone would do the trick. I bought the yogurt, now just need to do it.

The frog hut was purchased a couple weeks ago at a great antique/primitive sale that my hooker friend Karin told me about. I got there about an hour after the sale started and found out after the fact that you really need to be there when the doors open to find the real treasures. She said it is wall to wall people at that time, but by the time I arrived, the crowd had thinned. Of course I still managed to pick up a few things.
Here's a piece from an old overshot coverlet I purchased...
...and a great little brown crock. I also picked up a couple 48 star American flags to add to my collection.
LUCKY ME!!! I won a give-away from Pat at Hook, Hand and Heart. Pat is probably the most talented lady I have met in blogland. She is an amazing hooker, dyes the most incredible wool, weaves, is a former designer of cross stitch samplers, and who knows what else. This dish towel was woven by Pat. It's cotton and butter soft. It feels so good to the touch. It is much too beautiful to be used as a lowly dish towel! The soap is another creation of hers. I can't wait to try it. Please stop by her blog. She always has something interesting to say! Thank you so much Pat!!!
Here's a recent picture of Eema. She looks so grey in this picture! She is as sweet as ever.
The bugs have returned to northern Ohio. The lake flies (aka sand flies and what I call midgies) have been around for a couple of weeks. Today's hatch was larger size-wise than normal. AND...the first of the Canadian soldiers were out today. Oh, the joys of living near Lake Erie!
It was a gorgeous day here on Ohio's north coast. Rather than doing some much needed yard work, I picked up my grandson Jake and took him swimming. He doesn't know how to swim yet, but has no fear. I can't take my eye off of him for a second. Of course I had forgotten my camera :(
That's it for today. Thank you so much for stopping by and please come again soon.

My New Office Mate ~

~ WELCOME ~
I recently moved to a new department in the city where I work and I'd like to introduce my new co-worker, Sam, the resident mouser. He has been in the department for about a year and a half, and before Sam started working here, there was a problem with "other" four-legged creatures. Sam has taken care of that and for that I thank him! He has the run of the building and greets us every morning ~ very vocally ~ until he gets his morning treat of lunch meat. His current culinary favorite is deli ham.

Sam is a typical cat and pretty much goes where he pleases!
Occasionally, I have to gently remove him from my chair so I can get some work done!

Here he is getting sleepy.....
....it's hard work being a mouser.
Now I know you will all feel bad for me. In moving to the new department, I doubled my commute time to work. Instead of taking 4-5 minutes to drive to work, it now takes me 9-10 minutes. {Okay. I'm very lucky and I know it!!!}
Thank you so much for dropping by and I hope you will come again soon!

If it weren't for bad luck ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ I'd have no luck at all! Friday I accidentally smacked my digital camera in to a kitchen cupboard. Uh, oh. It stopped working. I set it in the camera dock and tried it again later. Oh, good. It's working again so I take it to the Akron Pet Adoptathon hoping to get lots of pictures. I'm sure you've figured by now that it's no longer working :( I decide to take a few pictures with the phone. I've never tried downloading pics from the phone to the computer. Even with the help of my DSO, it's not working. The computer just won't read the information. So....I did buy a new camera today, but need to charge the battery and figure out how to work the darned thing.
I was determined to blog today, so I thought I'd share pictures from the 2008 rug show at Sauder Village. I hope you enjoy the show!

Thanks for dropping by. Please stop in again soon.

Heavens to Betsy ~ ~ ~

~ ~ ~ is having a sale until June 15th. Many off the bolt wools are only $13 a yard. Check out her website at http://www.heavens-to-betsy.com/. I've added these wools to my stash. My wool cupboard is finally looking a bit respectable!

Karin (primitivespirits) finished the rug I showed you in the previous post and has it listed on eBay. If you are looking for a great primitive rug, be sure to check it out. Her rugs are gorgeous.
I hope everyone has a great weekend. Thank you so much stopping by. I appreciate your taking the time to visit.

Tuesday night hookin' ~

~ WELCOME FRIENDS ~
I haven't had time to do much of anything lately, and hooking and blogging have pretty much fallen by the wayside. I hope I can get back in the groove soon. I finally picked up the hook a couple of days ago and last night headed to the library for a little bit of "me" time. It was a small group so I only have a couple (wonderful) rugs to share. I started to hook a little mat for a friend's birthday and of course forgot to take a picture of it. I'll share it when I'm done.
Karin (eBay seller primitivespirits) only started this medium sized rug last Thursday. Can you believe it? It would take me a month of Sundays ~ if I was lucky! Her colors are much richer in person. It is just drop dead gorgeous! It's a design found in the book "Wool Rug Hooking" by Tara Darr. It's a book worth owning.
Helen was new to our group last evening and she is a relatively new hooker but is doing a fantastic job on this rug. I just love the way she is doing her background.
Lisa brought her knitting project last evening ~ a lap-sized afghan.
Isn't it gorgeous?
We've been having beautiful weather here on Ohio's north coast and we've gotten some much needed rain the last couple of days. Oh, the weeds are going crazy and the helicopters from the maple trees are sprouting everywhere! I have my work cut out for me!
Thank you so much for stopping by and I will try to be a better blogger ~ promise.
Pug hugs :)
