Wilma (about 5 years old) was found wandering the streets in Ohio's Amish country a few months ago with a young male pug, Wendell (about 18 months old). The vet believes them to be mom and son. No one claimed them and it was their lucky day when Ohio Pug Rescue was called. Wilma is a tiny little thing, weighing about 15 pounds. It is obvious she has had many litters of puppies ~ she was probably a puppy mill momma. NO MORE!!!
Yesterday she went to her forever home. I was fortunate to be able to do the adoption. (I did not foster her.) New mom Darlene had an almost 15 year old pug Daisy who went to the Rainbow Bridge last year and she was just now ready to welcome another pug in to her life. It was love at first site! She absolutely adored Wilma (which happened to be Darlene's mother's name!) and I know that Wilma is not going anywhere ever again.
To see the smile on Darlene's face makes fostering all worth while!
Please, if you are considering a pet, be it a dog, cat, bird, horse, even a skunk, consider a rescue pet. There are so many animals out there looking for their forever homes.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you will come again soon!

Happy Endings make me cry!!!
Wilma and Darlene will bring so much joy to each other!
Thank you, Lauren, for sharing the good news.
We have a rescue dog Rebel. he was shipped to new England from Atlanta. He is so smart and funny he is a mix of the vet thinks pug and beagle and maybe a little something else.
He too was running the streets. We have had him a year this month and wouldn't part with him for a million.
I love to hear happy stories like this....I would never "buy" a dog again....only rescues for me...the ones I have had, have all been a true joy.
AAAAAWWWWWWW---what an awesome Happy ending!!!
You think Wilma's gonna be spoiled???? LOLOLOLOL
Oh this just makes my heart happy! You can just see that Darlene is the best dog Mom!! I am so happy for her! And Wilma......the look on her face says it all! A match made in heaven for sure!! Thanks for posting this Lauren! Cathy G
How wonderful!!! I have to agree with you on pets coming from Rescue places. We tried last year and were unsuccessful, but maybe next time, we'll come home with something!
Welcome home Wilma! Our little Annie is a rescue. She needed a lot of work but she has turned into the best dog a person could ask for. We are very happy we can be her forever home.
