Idle Hands ~

They (whoever "they" are) say that idle hands are the devil's workshop.  I think for the time being I am safe from his grasp :)

In addition to the rug that I cannot share, I have picked up my needle and am working on a little cross stitch piece ~ another Christmas present.  This year I am determined to get gifts made early and not stress at the last minute buying a gift.  Just a little design from Pineberry Lane.

I've also started another Rebekah applique.  (The wool it is sitting on is not the background wool I've chosen.)

Early Sunday, DSO and I are heading east ~ to Vermont and New Hampshire ~ to marvel at the fall colors.  I skied in Vermont decades ago, but we flew in and left after skiing.  I am so looking forward to the beauty . . . and the icing on the cake will be meeting Cathy (of Acorn Hollow fame).  It will be nice to meet up with her and hubby.  We've been blog friends for many years.

That's it, dear friends.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

We lived in VT, very briefly. Kids would not follow us from California, so when Hubs had Heart surgery in Albany and I was diagnosed with bladder cancer (17 years ago and I am still here . . . praise God), we decide to return to California.
I loved VT, all three seasons of Fall, Winter and Spring. Summertime??? the bugs loved me and the humidity was more than I could bare. It is a scenically beautiful state. Thanks for the email Lauren hope this comment makes it thru. I love to travel. I won't cruise and Hubs won't fly so car is what is left. Have a wonderful time and I know you will.

Fondly with Folk Art Hugs and Peace,
Barb

Hi Lauren,
I am so happy (and a bit envious) that you will be making this trip to Vermont/NH for the fall colors!! One of my all time dream trips that I hope to make someday!! I KNOW you will enjoy it and then to be able to meet up with Cathy and her hubby will indeed be extra special!!! So nice that you can do this and I hope the colors are just gorgeous!! Be sure to enjoy some seafood while you are there, and also some maple syrup!! Lucky you!!!!
Take care, stay safe, and most of all ENJOY!!!!
Heart Hugs, my friend~

How fun you are stitching a R&W sampler Lauren! love it and I love your wool applique planning. A trip to Vermont and NH sounds great - sure hope it's cooler up there than the record high heat we've had ALL MONTH LONG in Sept. in the deep south. It's been horrible - every day in the 90's no rain or not much rain and no end in sight for the heat. Monday is October 1st - and for the next 10 days we are staying in high heat. I just can't think of rug hooking when it is this hot so I will continue with my stitching. Have a great safe trip - Mel
