Still Not Done ~

I thought decorating was going well but I'm still not done.  It seems every evening I am gone for many hours and when I get home accomplish little.  I am so ready to be done!

I bought a new "twig tree" this year.  This is what it looked like after coming out of the box as I was figuring how to arrange the branches. I absolutely hated stringing lights on the tree and this one is pre-lit.

Here it is after I spent a VERY long time fiddling with the branches.

I've finally started hanging the ornaments.  I have many that are heavy and this tree is not well suited for them, but I'm trying . . . sigh.  I still have many, many more to go.

My snowmen ~

Gift from dear friend Wink.

I am not a big fan of LED lights.  I find the color very cold, but I did buy a couple strings of these at Kohl's (50% off + coupon ~ what a racket). They are battery operated and on a very fine wire that can be bent any which way.  I haven't been using them long enough to know how long the batteries will last.

Nothing exciting going on in my life.  I haven't picked up the hook in a week.  Geez, I'd better get busy if I still want to give that Maria snowman as a gift.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

  1. Oh no. I love that tree! Never saw one like it. Not too sparse, not too full, skinny needles. I do not need another tree. I do not need another tree. I do not need another tree.....this may take a while.

  2. Love your new tree! Very Charlie Brown Christmas tree looking!!!

  3. I love your tree, where did you get it?

  4. Your tree and decoration looks great. Snow man also looks fine. You must have spend a great time to make the tree look good.

  5. Great tree Lauren...prelit is the only way to go as far as I'm concerned...who has the patience to get them on right when the ornies are waiting. ..I forget what my hook looks like ..that Maria pattern us adorable...better get up early to hook on it!

  6. Your twig tree is divine.
Rustic and delicate at the same time !

  7. What a sweet tree, love it and your snowmen to, Christmas is near!!!! Blessings Francine.

  8. Love your tree! I got LED white lights last year. I hated them..them I found there are 2 kinds of white LED lights and I wanted Warm White, which are better than the horrible bright bluey white your decorations...!

  9. love your tree!
that first set of snowmen, just wowed me, love them!

  10. The after pic of your tree is gorgeous! The before pic looks a little "Dr. Seuss"... lol! Love your snowmen! I hope to be picking up the hook next week too... Christmas is only 11 days away and I have yet to hook a Christmas rug...

  11. You'll get her done. My I love your Snowmen collection. I can see why your tree is difficult to decorate. The branches are so delicate but pretty.

Warm hugs for you and your little furgirl.

  12. The tree looks pretty darn good in the picture. Love that snowman to the right on the table with the glitter.

  13. Oh my goodness, your new twig tree looks exactly like mine did when I took it out of the box...Mr. Dog Trot saw it and said "send that back" needless to say it has grown on us...Happy decorating, love your snowmen collection...

  14. I had that same tree many years ago....I loved it too much!
Anyway, we called it my Charlie brown tree...everyone loved it. I just get new ones as I love all the pretty lights.
Off to hang a few more ornies since I found the wire hooks. Those fancy ones don't work as well.

  15. Love your twiggy tree, Lauren! It looks very primitive. You have a terrific snowman collection, too...Mine got so large that it overtook the house, so I sold a bunch of them at a garage sale two years ago.

I agree with you about those bluish white lights....too cold and not primitive.

Your home looks wonderful, of course!

    Hugs, Linda

  16. Lauren, I do love the tree! I am with you, hate doing lights!! OLM
