My Dear Sweet Eema ~

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here,

that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends

so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food and water and sunshine,

and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor;

those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again,

just as we remember them in our dreams

of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing:

they miss someone very special to them;

who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together,

but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance.

The bright eyes are intent;

the eager body quivers.

Suddenly he begins to break away from the group,

flying over the green grass,

his legs carrying him faster and faster.

YOU have been spotted,

and when you and your special friend finally meet,

you cling together in joyous reunion,

never to be parted again.

The happy kisses rain upon your face;

your hands again caress the beloved head,

and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet,

so long gone from your life

but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together . . .

* * *

It is with great sadness I tell you that dear, sweet Eema went peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge last week, held lovingly in forever mom Dolly's arms.  I could not have asked for a better mom to Eema.  Dolly is truly an angel on earth and I will be forever grateful for the life she gave Eema.

Run fast and free, my dear sweet girl.

I've fallen and I can't get up until I get a belly rub!

With pug sister Cher (L) wintering in Florida
Pug hugs :)

Lauren, I'm so sorry about Eema's passing. I know that they leave a big hole in our heart when they leave us. Eema was lucky that she had you and her adoptive mom to care for her with the little bit of time she had left and I'm sure that she got the best care available.

Your kind words mean so much. I was the lucky one to have had her love for the past year. She was such a remarkable girl & I miss my shadow. I celebrate her strong spirit & how much she loved life -all the way to the end. You never would have known she had a tragic past. Eema made my life so rich in many ways. I'll always treasure Lauren's friendship & support. She was Eema's first mom. Remember how Eema lit up when she saw you at the Hudson event? Run free my sweet girl.
