Hookin' at the Library ~

First of all, I'd like to say a big THANK YOU for all the kind comments regarding my Peanut and her possible adoption.  If she does go to her forever home, I'm sure I will shed a few tears, but as some of you pointed out, there will be another pug who needs me.
Last night was hookin' at the library with the "usual suspects".
Karin (eBay seller primitivespirits) hadn't decided on her next big rug, so was hooking a sweet little house mat.

Candy is still working on her snowman rug.  She is hooking it in a 4 cut.  Looks like thin spaghetti to me.
Deanna is close to finishing her dancing bunnies, an antique adaptation.
Carole (left) was working on some quilling (I think that's what the rolled wool is called) for her next rug and Arlene (right) is off to a good start on Tennessee Hearts.  Oh, that rug is on my want-to-hook-list, which is quite long!

Mitsuko is busy working on her sheep mat.

I did pull a few loops on my proddy sheep rug that I started last Saturday at Alice's.  I will share it with you soon.
Thank you so much for stopping by and I do hope you will come again soon.
Pug hugs :)

My Girls ~ ~ ~

Aren't my girls
just the cutest?
It's not often they get
close enough together
to get a picture.
Tonight was my lucky night.
For any new readers,
Loocie's the fawn one ~
five years old.
Peanut is my foster baby ~
six years old.

As I've said many times before,
fostering is very bittersweet.
Peanut may be going to her
forever home on Friday.
She came very close to being
a foster failure.
My sweet little Peanut.
Oh, how I will miss her.
Pug hugs :)

She entered via an email message.
The winner is Michele.

Congrats to Michele!

Kerri chose the bunny
with the flower,
so Michele will get the bunny

Thank you again
to all who entered!

Maggie B and a Give~Away ~

I did something this evening I've never done before.  I came home from work determined to spend a couple hours hooking.  I was on a mission ~ to complete my Maggie B rug this evening.  My goal was to get it hooked the month of March.  Well . . . I didn't start the rug until March 9.  I wanted to get the hooking done within a month's time and voila!  I did it.  I really am pleased with the results, but this is a TERRIBLE picture.  Hopefully I can get a better one at a later date.  I normally hook small mats so this is actually the third largest rug I've hooked to date.  I really enjoyed hooking this one.
On to the give~away.  I've got two little needle punch bunny mats that I made last year.  The winner gets her/his choice.  Maybe if I get a few new followers, I will give them both away. {HINT!  HINT!}

As always, the rules are pretty simple.
  • leave a comment on this post or drop me an email with give~away in the subject line
  • you don't need to be a follower but I'd love it if you were
  • the winner will be chosen some time after 6 pm on Sunday the 10th
  • you are welcome to post this on your blog, but you don't get any extra "points" for doing so :)

* * * * * * * * *
Saturday I am heading down to Alice's for a proddy class.  I've never taken a hooking class so should be a fun day.

* * * * * * * * * *
I often get questions about the vintage holiday postcards on my posts.  No, I don't have a collection of them.  They are on a CD I bought years ago on eBay.

Thank you so much for stopping by and I hope you will come again soon.

Hooking x 2 ~

Thursday was hooking night at That'll Do Farm.  In addition to the usual suspects, we had a newbie to the group.  Melissa is not a new hooker, just someone we all met for the first time that night.  She is working on a Karen Kahle pattern.

Jane (foreground) was working on binding her Klimt.  That's Heidi ~ Woolnuts ~ in the back.
Beautiful, bright colors with just the perfect amount of bling!
Heidi was hooking a very retro-looking camp trailer.
Andrea is moving along on her sheep rug.
A completed rug of Jane's.  I am not a purple person, but I love it in her background.
Melissa was meeting Bobbie ~ The Evening Stitcher ~ on Saturday in Michigan for a hook-in.  She graciously asked me to come along, but getting away for an entire day was out of the question, but . . .
I did manage to sneak away to meet Sheila (no blog) at the Ault's Rug Hooking Store to hook for a few hours.  Sheila won a give-away of mine and I had subsequently met her briefly a couple of times.  We've been trying to meet for lunch at a mid-point, but it just never worked out, so when she asked if I wanted to meet her there, I jumped at the opportunity.
Here is the Magdalena Briner rug that Julie ~ the Crude Black Ewe ~ is hooking.  To say it is HUGE is an understatement!!!

Judy, a friend of Sheila's, also joined in the fun.  She is close to finishing this sweet little kitty mat.  She said it is outside her normal color palette.
She also brought a Jill Peterson design that was hooked but not yet bound.  Oh, the colors are so much better in person!
Sheila is also hooking a very large rug.  She said she got the pattern on an online trade a number of years ago and she has modified the pattern somewhat.  I don't know that I will ever hook a rug that large.
I was working on my Maggie B rug.  I am getting close!
The last of the taxes were mailed off today.  What a relief to be done with that task :)
Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope your week is off to a great start.  Ours was a rainy start, but at least the temps were in the 50's!
Pug hugs :)
