Back to Crazy ~

My 3 day hooking retreat in Millersburg was GREAT fun.  More on that in the next post.  Now it's back to reality finishing goods for the upcoming Danville, IN hook in where I will be vending on the 7th & 8th of September.

A few pictures from the Asian Lantern Festival at the Cleveland Zoo.

Grandson Jake less than thrilled at having his picture taken.

Once it got dark, it was TOTALLY IMPRESSIVE.

I finished my little mat that I plan on attaching to a vintage picnic basket.  On to the binding :(

I wanted to show my progress from my Rebekah L Smith class on Saturday but there's not enough to show.  Hopefull I will find time to work on it soon.

I've been sorting worms.  We all know how they multiply while we sleep :)  Many more to sort.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Sauder ~ the End

I didn't take nearly as many pictures as I normally do.  The rug show is just overwhelming.  A few more rugs to share.

Tish Murphy was a vendor at the show.  She had done this take on Rosie the Riveter.

Tish then drew this pattern for a hooker in Wisconsin whose mom was a real Rosie during the war.  She drew her likeness and added the silhouette of a warplane since the lady had riveted on such a plane.

I've seen this rug before, but this time I had an "aha" moment.

Don't the knees look like boobs?

Another Celebrations rug.

Not something I will ever hook, but I am in awe.

A couple punch needle pieces by the talented and so productive Jo.

A rug this size is incomprehensible to me.

There were many group exhibits displayed at the show.  Here is the challenge from the Crooked River guild that I belong to.

That's my rug, top middle.

The paisley challenge from another guild I belong to, the Western Reserve Rug Hookers.  I did not participate in this one.

The pinecone rugs were simply gorgeous.

The special exhibit was Maud Lewis.  You can read more about her here.

These wooly pine trees were fun.  One of these days I will get around to making one.

The felted animals were just unreal.  What talent.

And the craziness continues.  Yesterday was spent at the county fair in the morning and then a trip to the Cleveland Zoo in the evening for the Asian Lantern Festival.  Very cool.  Tomorrow it's a Rebekah L. Smith wool applique class (like I need another project!) and then Sunday I head to Millersburg, Ohio, for a 3 day hooking retreat.  Just hooking, friends, lots of laughs I'm sure, a little wine, maybe some antiquing.  Life is good.
