Guess what I had today?

Well, if I was a working girl I would be so happy that today is Friday, but being retired (YEAH!) every day can be my Friday if I so choose. I am so thankful to no longer be working. There was an obituary in the paper the other day . . . a 67 year old woman, retired ONE MONTH, and she died unexpectedly. I truly feel blessed as they say. Last week I had a birthday. I am still trying to figure out how I got to be this old, but hey, some people don't get to celebrate this milestone.
Somehow this week just disappeared (like most weeks) and I have been doing a little of this and a little of that. We did have a nice day or two so a little more yard work has been accomplished. The 10 day forecast is not too promising.
I am finally back to hooking on The Poser, an antique adaptation started in a class with Cathy Stephan last June. I haven't decided if I like the light wool I am using around the chicken. Sometimes it looks way too light (like in this picture). Other times not so much. It is actually four different grey-ish wools.
I am also working on some sunflowers that will be attached to old bedsprings. A couple of them will go to my hooking guild as table favors for our hook in.
A fall design I am working on. The border lines are not wonky like they look in the picture 😁 This is a very old free pattern from the Wool Cupboard and can be found here.
Finally . . . the dreaded binding. Dancing Bunnies is first in the queue to be bound. Ole Jack . . . well, who know when I will get to that.
I thought I would share the wool used for the background. I love how a plaid can hook up. (It is an older wool so if you try to find it, it may be difficult.) I did not want to outline the bunnies, so it was hard to find a wool that would work. I could not go light because of the white bunny and could not go dark because of the red and blue bunnies.

So many wonderful rugs were being worked on in Millersburg. A few completed and many in various stages of completion. I know I missed a few . . . but I took more pictures than I usually do. Sit back and enjoy the show.
I'm back home and back to reality. Hooking world is a lot more fun. I swear, I hooked for three days . . . morning until bedtime . . . and as usual accomplished about 1/3 of what I was hoping to. By now, I should have learned it is not going to happen, but I wouldn't trade it for anything.
I did finish this pumpkin with hand torn strips that was not quite half done.
I was positive I would have Dancing Bunnies completely hooked . . . sorry Saundra . . . close but not quite. Nary a loop was pulled on The Poser.
Every spring my son and I try to be the first to mow the lawn. I sent him this yesterday. (I meant to do it when the snow was a foot high and completely forgot.) He told me that I won 😁

Progress is being made on my Dancing Bunnies rug. I have a little tweaking to do . . . change eye color, flagpole and I am not sure about the star in the canton. It looks better in the photo than it does in person. I used Saundra's tutorial on how to hook a Kris Miller star. You can read about it here. Then on to background.
Yesterday I was off hooking for a good part of the day. Tomorrow I leave for three days of hooking with the Twenty Dollar Hookers in Millersburg, OH. (Guess who has not started to pack.) Always a fun time with like minded souls. And I wonder why I can't get much done at home . . . sigh. Going off to "play" is much more fun than being a responsible grown up 😁

Saundra (Woodland Junction) decided to have yet another hook-along, and with the upcoming Easter holiday, she thought a bunny rug would be apropos. Now I am not sure what rabbits have to do with Easter, but the antique rug Dancing Bunnies was chosen. So many antique adaptations are being hooked, and you can follow along here.
I hooked Dancing Bunnies last year, so thought I would sit this one out.
