Happy Halloween ~

There is a house in the neighborhood a few blocks from me that goes ALL out for Halloween.  (I may have posted pictures last year.)  Year round they have an Amityville Inn sign hanging over the front door.

That is only part of the yard!  My #1 question is where in the heck do they store all this stuff???

And at yet another house in the neighborhood is this fun skelly.

Happy Halloween!  It looks like a warm though windy evening for trick-or-treaters here in northern Ohio.  Hopefully the rain will hold off until it is all over.  I have almost no kids living in my neighborhood, but their population swells on Halloween.  I will never turn away anyone . . . older kids or babies in strollers.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

It was suggested to bring the first rug you hooked to the Tipp City hook in.  I am just amazed that these are all first time rugs.  (No, I did not bring mine.  Thankfully I did not because I would have been totally embarrassed!!!)

Enjoy the show 😉

Are you as impressed as I was?

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Nature's Beauty ~

Because of our drought-like conditions all summer, I did not expect much in the way of fall color, but I think this is about as good as it gets here in northern Ohio!

I'm off to Tipp City before the crack of dawn tomorrow for two days of hooking fun.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

A Hidden Treasure ~

Lorain, the city where I have lived the last 25 years, is known as the International City.  One hundred twenty five plus years ago, many ethnic groups settled in the city to work in the steel mill.  Each ethnic group had their own church.  Sadly, about 20 years ago, the Catholic diocese closed the majority of the little churches, including the Slovenian church my mother attended her entire life.

I had heard the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Polish church (that was not closed), was absolutely beautiful, but in all the years I have lived in the area, I had never been inside.  Last month, they were having an open house that DSO and I decided to attend.  I am still in awe of what we saw.  Absolutely beautiful!!!

Who knew?  An metal incense burner suspended from chains is known as a thurible.

Some of the stained glass windows.

And finally, this just made me chuckle.
