This is just a little of what I am dealing with! One section of the attic.
The area between the living and dining room. All stuff that is in various stages of being dealt with.
In the living room. All ready to head to the thrift shop soon.
I decided to get a jump on Easter decorating. Why does one person have this many Easter decorations?
The cast iron rabbit mold my mom gave me decades ago. She had purchased him in a box lot at auction. Lucky me to have him . . . though he hasn't seen the light of day in 25+ years.
Leonora from A Journal of Days told me she had just ordered a book about Swedish Death Cleaning. I vaguely remember hearing of this and did a quick internet search. There are also many You Tube videos on the subject. I really need to watch a few of these and see if they will make purging any easier!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

Even your attic looks tidy and organized. You won't be seeing a photo of mine, lol.
Ditto what Saundra typed. Ha! I read (listened to) that book. I'm not sure it helped me move forward with purging. On that vein, one thing my MIL did (in her purging), was to wrap up something I had admired from her house and give it to me for Christmas or my birthday. But my house is now full of her things from when I had to clear out and sell her house. I haven't heard any of my offspring admire anything. So it goes on.
You go girl!
I don't think your attic is bad at all. In the first photo, to the right sitting on a box, is that a sombrero & serape wearing frog playing an accordion?! I have no idea why that's such an amusing idea this morning.
I haven't looked into the Swedish death cleaning method. Yet. A few years ago, DS was talking to me in the sewing room, looking around at the over stuffed shelves of books and stuff. I quipped "all this will be yours someday!" - the look of horror and "oh F...!" was simultaneously hilarious, and sobering. Very sobering.
I should declutter the decluttering books that I've bought over the years. They were interesting reading, but nothing really stuck for long. I'm glad most were library sale or used book store purchases.
My eyes may be deceiving me but keep an eye on the box under the table in your living room picture. I think a hand is trying to escape. You are doing great work. Remind yourself how long it took to accumulate stuff and then look at all you accomplished already!
I agree with the previous comments that even your purging "mess" looks neat, tidy, and organized. I think I'm the one who told you about Swedish death cleaning b/c I was surprised you hadn't heard of it. I heard of it a long, long, time ago and, while the concept makes perfect sense, it hasn't "gotten through" to me. I laughed so hard at Gail's comment spying the frog with the sombrero and serape playing an accordion. WTH??! LOVE the bunny mold...but I'm sure that comes as no surprise. Looks like you're making great progress. Seems like every time I even THINK I might finally be able to focus on some purging, something major comes crashing down on me and I'm further behind than ever. Those long winter days were supposed to be spent getting a start on it. Ha! ~Robin~
I am still purging a year and a half later. I have done my closets and now I am doing the attic. Slow progress there first of all it is freezing up there.
I took 2 bags today to the thrift. I did buy a couple of odd plates one for under a plant and one for my glue gun.
It is freeing I will tell you that but I will never be a minimalist.

OMG I love your attic with that window. Mine dont look like that. If that were mine, I would probably put a chair by that window and stitch. Wonderful bunny mold. Glad you decided to bring it out again. Janice
You go Lauren..I’ve been making trips to the donation Bin every week on my way to care for my Granny’s. Seems there is always more. I love the sweet Bunny treasure from your mom you found.❤️ Trace
Hi There, you know I read it before I started purging right before we moved.
It helped. I was going to ask you if you had ever read it, but I didn't. The title is scary, but the book isn't. Your attic is very nice. I like it. I love that mold. What a treasure. Its hard but it is so nice when its cleaned out. After today, I am going to start some more purging. Its time again. Have a wonderful day Lauren.
Oh purging is so hard to do .....you are good at making your piles & getting things out of the house ....I need to do that too . Our library is looking for any craft items we don't need ....great idea ! I do have a lot I can give them , so that will feel good !
Love your Bunny mold !!!
