Normally I would say a person cannot have too much wool, but I am beginning to rethink my position. The cupboards are bursting at the seams, so how can I never have the color I am looking for?
The first three cupboards are "sort of" divided by color families. There is also wool in all the baskets but will I ever remember to look in them?
I really need to sort through those baskets on the top shelf.
The top shelf is wool that still needs washed and/or overdyed. There is no rhyme or reason to the second shelf and some of the wools can't even be seen.
More wool that needs washed and/or overdyed.
This does not take in to account all the worms and small bits of wool living in the closet. I think I need WA - Wools Anonymous - and I would bet I could start my own chapter. Care to join me? Or maybe I just need a bigger hooking room :)
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

At least is is organized. I cannot say whether there's less in my room or more because there are are heaps of unfolded and folded wool in various colors/textures. Must definitely get it organized WAY before my Cape May Rug camp in September.
I could be one of your charter members! and I do not have the right color ever it seems.

Wow Lauren, that is so awesome! That would be wonderful to see in person and of course touch. I just love that, it would be heaven I think. Yes, I know that is the way it is, I was talking to a quilter friend of mine and I was thankful that I don't quilt too. She said she has the same problems as I do with wool. Isn't it funny how you can never find just that right color? Thank you for sharing. I think its lovely.
I wish I had as much wool as you do, only because it seems I never have the color I want, and I always have to wait until the Holly show because no one sells wool here where I live. Love all of your colors. Eye candy for sure! Janice
I would say that is a nice stash of wool, never enough, lol.
Yes, I am always finding, I never have the right color, in my stash.
I do keep yardage of tans and lights in a box for dying if I need something.

I was drooling over this post. Beautiful wools.
It's very neat. It offers color. It's a hell of a lot.
Ha! I would hire you to organize my wools!
But if you want a fiber detox you can always
send some my way. Lovely photos!
It's really looking pretty and well organized but it's a lot of wool and it can get overwhelming at times. I've decluttered my wool twice already and last year I gave several large garbage bags away to the Salvation Army. I don't know what the answer is but finding the right color always seems to be a problem. I said to myself, "Does the world need another rug" and the answer was "Not really" Let's face it, we will never live long enough to use all that wool. Our grandmothers used what they had and their rugs were always pretty.
I think one solution would be to gather all the local wool mongers together and form a co-op of sharing wool. as long as the moths are not shared. Surely, someone has the right color in their stash. lol..., but who want to part with their wool?
Enjoy the summer.
Hugs, Julia
I am right there with you! The sad thing is that even with the tons of wool that I have, I am now buying kits so that I can quickly get to it rather than go through all my wool. LOL!
Blessings, Patti
I know the feeling...my love for wool far exceeds my desire to hook right now..still haven't purchased any wool this year...
That is certainly quite a bit of wool! :-) But, you enjoy hooking....and hook often...so, as long as the stash is inspiring you, then stick with what you're doing! As soon as your stash becomes stifling...it's time to thin it out...
I am drooling over all your beautiful wool !!! I also have wool that needs to be dyed, washed & sorted so I know what I have ...friends have given me their Mother's collections of wool , & I have my mothers, from when women sewed beautiful wool suits ! I better get to those soon !!!
Hmmm... Nope, not too much, perhaps too much of what you're not looking to use. Or if you start finding stashes that you have no memory of squirreling away, like bags in the car trunk because you have no idea where to put it. Then maybe it's too much. But if the stash is not taking food out of your mouth, squeezing you out of the house, or stealing retirement savings, you're good IMHO. I'm not a rug hooker, but that cabinet of reds, blues and greens makes me happy.
Oh Lauren, you've been keeping a wee secret huh! I am certain there would be many volunteers to help you rid yourself of any excesses in your life:) Have a great weekend! PS - btw, every piece is beautiful!
Makes me smile. Mine is piled on the floor and tables awaiting a closet to store it in. Doesn’t seem to be happening very soon. And I bought more at Rug camp. Sign me up for membership in wool anonymous.
I think you are just fine. :D At least your stash is just wool. I have overflowing stash in cross stitch, quilt fabric, and yarn. It's ridiculous! And mine definitely looks like yours -- in all three categories!
And I thought I have too much wool. You win! Happy hooking.
Hi Lauren,
I just think you need a bigger room and then it would all look normal!! See, I solved your problem!! After all, that is what friends are for, yes?? lol
I would definitely feel right at home in your wool room and would even help you organize it!!!
Take care and enjoy each and every piece and color!! It is BEAUTIFUL!!!!!

Can I come play?? I promise to mop up my drool properly...and, ok...I won’t even steal either of your baby tubs. ~Robin~
shoot - I'm catching up on blog reading and I missed the baby bathtub post RATS! It sure is cool looking. I guess I didn't realize people actually had such things in ages past. I think I was bathed in the kitchen sink when I was a baby and then graduated to the tub. I can even remember as a small child having my hair washed by laying down on the kitchen drainboard and just screaming at the top of my lungs afraid to get soap and water in my eyes. I guess I learned early on not to like water in my face and eyes. No wonder I don't like to swim or go underwater. We didn't have a shower until I was an adult - I guess when my grandparents house was built they didn't install showers routinely in the 40's. Ah - thanks for the memories. Even though some are nightmarish> Mel
